About this deal

While many electric lawn mowers struggle with long and wet grass, the AdvancedRotak 650 has ample power to handle overgrown lawns, making it a good choice for bigger lawns that are left to grow during the seasons. With the ProSilence feature Bosch have also kept vibrations and noise at extremely good levels for a mower of this power.

BOSCH AdvancedRotak 650 Electric Rotary Lawnmower, Cutting

The grass box does come with a handy gauge indicating when the grass box is getting full, again a nice touch as not all mowers have this. The roller produced some neat rows and the cut was tidy and even. I had it on height setting 5. The grass collector lasted a full charge before emptying. There was some spillage but I might not have attached it correctly. I'll have a closer look with the next cut. Equipped with many impressive features, the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 didn’t disappoint in this area. It has a patented ProSilence sound system (designed to reduce sound output by up to 75%), 7 easily adjustable cutting heights, a leaf collector blade and side combs that enable close edge cutting. Even though it’s fitted with a ProSilence feature, I didn’t notice much difference in the sound level compared with other lawnmowers. But if you’re sensitive to sounds, you may notice the reduction more than me.Having a large grass box is a bit of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it means that all the trimmings are collected and you need to make less trips to empty it out. A smaller grass box or no grass box will make the lawnmower much lighter and easier to navigate.

In summary, I've only got a corded Flymo and a brief experience with a ride on to compare but I enjoyed using the Bosch. It gave a neat cut and the battery lasted well. I do have a couple of other batteries for other Bosch tools so this is easy to extend if I need it. Their expertise is very apparent in their present range of lawn mowers and garden tools as it includes products, which no other garden machinery manufacturer produces. The Rotak electric and cordless lawn mowers demonstrate the company's willingness to innovate with features like grass combs that enable you to mow right up to the lawn's edge and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that have virtually no weakened performance after extended use. The only weak point I could indicate is the flip cover for the battery. It seems a little flimsy so don't be too rough with it.The best months for lawn mowing are March to October. Mowing should be done once or twice a week depending on how fast the grass grows. The best time of day to mow the grass is at the end of the afternoon and never in full sunlight. This is to prevent the grass from drying out after being cut. Just after 12 months the mower failed. My guess was that the motor had burnt out. It was a little disappointing considering it was only a year old and this may have been a problem had I not activated the extended warranty. I did advise TooledUp of this problem and they were very helpful - they are a very good company! There’s no denying that the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 performed exactly as you’d expect for the above-average price point. I tested 3 of the 7 cutting heights and no matter how tall the grass was, it performed exceptionally in all 3 settings. All in all this Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 is a fantastic mower full of features that can be used to help make mowing your lawn that bit easier and enjoyable. The Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 is built on the larger end of the scale with dimensions of 76 x 49 x 45 cm. Despite its size, it claims that it can cut close to the edges of walls and fences due to its side grass combs.
