About this deal

I’ve put together all my top tips for staying warm when camping. The main consideration is not going to bed cold. And if you do get cold in the night, the only way to warm up properly is to get out and move (no matter how much you don’t want to!). Go for a brisk walk or do some star jumps. Roll out your bivvy bag and then put your sleeping bag inside. There are 2 ways you can have your roll mat. Either outside (underneath your bivvy bag) or inside (under your sleeping bag but inside your bivvy bag). Slide the mat under your bed once you are inside your sleeping bag, and the mat creates a barrier between the damp, cold ground and the underside of your bed. I WROTE A BOOK!!** All about my first big adventure hiking the length of Israel – Three Stripes South. Don’t forget to also sign up to my newsletter to stay up to date with future adventures.

Furthermore, if you want to fully feel part of nature and enjoy wider views, then a Brolly allows for a more open and exposed experience. Summary In the morning, turn your bivvy bag inside out. Hang it up somewhere with your sleeping bag to dry off properly. If it’s a damp morning, then you can do this later in the day if you have a sunny break.Fine tuned to come in three colours – brown, green and camo – the standard Bivvy colours allow for you to blend with ease into your bankside’s natural environment Next, consider the nature of your running excursion. For a long adventure (more than a few nights), the importance of comfort and plenty of rest can't be underestimated. This is where a slightly heavier set-up might be preferred (eg a one-man tent with some space inside and a comfy sleeping mat). Roll mat (I use a Thermarest NeoAir, which is very luxurious, although a cheap roll mat will also do) Although it sounds like you’re asking for a lot, with Bivvies it’s commonplace to be able to secure your all-year-round shelter.

Their one-man Ascent Bivvy weighs 5kg, whilst the two-man version adds a further 2kg. At the other end of the scale is their HQ Dual-Layer Bivvy : one-man is 10kg, two-man is 12kg. What’s the coolest Bivvy colour in 2021? Bivvies come in a wide range of sizes – for example, the Avid Ascent Bivvy is available in one or two-man – allowing you to tailor your fishing shelter setup for those solo overnighters to a more social outing with your friend. Our helpful 2021 guide below answers all the questions you could possibly want to ask when it comes to choosing the perfect Bivvy for you. You can go even further and create yourself a bankside palace with the RidgeMonkey Escape XF2 Compact with Plus Porch Extension . This can fit two standard-sized Bedchairs , whilst the porch extension adds an excellent socialising space or extra storage option. What is the best Bivvy on the market for easy set up and put away? In use, I tested it on two separate occasions. The first on a mild autumn night when I was able to keep the hood pretty much open all night. It was wonderful to see the stars, and I recommend reading this great stargazing guide if that’s of interest to you. On a second occasion, I had some heavyish rain but found that I stayed relatively dry overnight with a small amount of condensation on the hood from my breath – nothing to worry about and my sleeping bag was not wet at all.

The Ionosphere comes in two main parts – a double-hooped ‘undercarriage’ mesh section which forms the frame of the bivvy, and then a highly waterproof (5000mm HH) and breathable ripstop outer fly sheet which goes over the top. Both require pegging down using aluminum tent pegs which come with the Ionosphere. The fly sheet also has guy ropes to peg down to secure it. I have had it set up in severe gale conditions, and because of the low profile, there was absolutely no chance of it working loose and flying off. In Use

At Outlaw Pro, our team of experienced anglers know all there is to know when it comes to Bivvies , Brollies and Shelters .A bivvy bag is essentially a lightweight sleeping bag cover that protects you from the worst of the elements but offers little in the way of shelter. It is usually composed of a waterproof bottom fabric (groundsheet) and a lighter upper fabric that is waterproof but also breathable. What is the difference between a bivvy and a sleeping bag? Headtorch (I use a Petzl Tikkina) in case you need to go for a pee in the night. Alternatively, you can just use the torchlight on your phone. This is a large bivvy mat which is ideal for positioning in the entrance of your bivvy. It has been manufactured from a heavy duty material and it features as waterproof neoprene padded centre. This bivvy mat is perfect for placing between the legs of your bed chair, providing you with a dry, clean, and soft surface onto which you can place your feet before you boot up for the day.
