To be fair to Turtle Beach, the blame for all this falls directly at Microsoft’s door because of the Xbox One’s use of proprietary audio connectors. The magnetic charging stand of the headset also improves its aesthetic with its pull power to hold the headset upright. If that isn’t enough, active noise cancellation (ANC) can completely isolate you from the outside world when gaming; we could still detect the faint hiss of noise cancellation during play, but it was mild enough not to prove distracting. Key Points: Any edge can help you win or lose a game, especially when you go head-to-head with other gamers. We were using a Macbook Air and an iPhone 6 Plus for this review, so we found the lack of software support to change audio profiles annoying.It features a synthetic leather-wrapped headband and ear cushions for optimal comfort during long hours of gaming. However, you will no longer have independent control of game audio and chat audio levels, and you will no longer have Dolby Digital and DTS® 7. When you’re at home, a combined charging dock and transmitter connects to your PS3, PS4, PC or Mac and sends the audio to the headset. Smartly, Turtle Beach has also incorporated micro-USB charging so you don’t need the dock when you’re travelling.
