At over 13kg Kipper is able to go forward facing now and this is how we have fitted the Graco Milestone Car Seat in our car. It’s a multi group car seat that can be used as a rear facing infant car seat for babies (weighing up to 13kg) changing to a forward facing car seat utilising the 5-point harness (9-18kg).

The child is always in the harness when rear facing and the buckle appears to be easy to get into the base. The headrest and harness adjust together which is great, it literally takes seconds to adjust to fit their height. The 5 point harness is secure and easy to fasten, and the seat itself holds both Max and Eliza in the correct seating position.The no-rethread harness simultaneously adjusts with the headrest to ensure a secure fit at every stage. We recommend keeping your child rearward facing as long as possible because, in case of impact, this seat position will better protect your child's head, neck and spine. However, the seat can be used as a rear-facing seat until your child is 13kg, around 12 to 15 months. I think the cost would still be worth it if the car seat was used for a few years especially considering the added features of having an easily adjustable seat.Neither of me children are of booster requirements yet, but I love that this car seat will transition to a booster when the time is ready.

But I needn’t have worried – straight out of the box the installation was a breeze (the Milestone has no ISOFIX but is a Universal fit, which means the chair has to be installed in the car with an adult seat belt. It is suitable for children from birth up to the age of 12 and can be used in various positions as the child grows. However, as technology and carseat models are upgraded so often I wonder if anyone would actually use the carseat for 12 years? and would have given me all i would have needed for any of our foster care children, i have tryed to always use britax,. If looked after well and cleaned regularly (you can machine wash the cushion pads), there is no reason why the car seat won’t go the distance.Having said that, the Milestone is a truly great value option, that covers you from the day your baby is born until the day you no longer need a car seat. This car seat stands out for its reclining feature, the fact that you can adjust the headrest and harness in one swoop. This is great, to have a rear facing seat from birth that you can fit with a seatbelt and a 5 point seat belt too (later).
