About this deal

I mostly care about realistic key touch, you mentioned you prefer Roland FP10 keys “I also prefer Roland’s keyboard action, as per me it is more “natural”, but then you didn’t had the FP10 on the comparison tables ? Many upgrades to the B2 feel like Korg playing “catch up” rather than innovating, which is sad. We praised the Korg B1, but it’s 2019. Since the competition is sprinting ahead, it’s hard to recommend an ‘upgrade’ that only brings the bare minimum to the table. If you go with the B2 or B2N, the included damper pedal is shaped like a true piano sustain pedal, a step above the commonly bundled square-pad pedals. Even so, this pedal acts as a simple binary on-off switch, meaning half-pedaling isn’t supported. The B2 and B2SP use Korg’s NH ( Natural Weighted Hammer Action) keyboard, which is identical to the keys of the previous B1 series.

The strings are passable. These sounds are normally used for layering with a piano, but that mode isn’t present on the B2. In isolation, this sound is limited in its application. Keys are somewhat even, as Korg’s NH action feels to Yamaha’s GHS action as featured on the P-45. I recommend testing both out to see which you prefer. The newly minted Korg B2N is all new, designed with the goal of creating a lightweight portable digital piano. The problem is that it still requires an AC adapter and power supply. Support for batteries would have been welcome and is a missed opportunity.

If you are going to be using this Korg in piano lessons I think the addition of these digital sounds will add another level of fun and creativity to the sessions. As you will see below, some of the competitors have much more voices included into their instruments, so this is not the best side of B2. But I need to pay tribute, the quality of the voices is decent. Korg B2 control buttons

I am looking to buy a digital piano and I am currently debating between the Korg B2 and the Roland FP 30. Authentic sound and touch are very important to me. And it is important to note that where I live, the Korg B2 is much cheaper than the Fp 30. Korg may on occasions supply software programs, data files and/or documentation belonging to a third party or parties (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Third Party Software”). An Italian-made piano with beautifully bright expression and satisfying sustain. Pianists around the world are enraptured by its rich resonance and sensitive responsiveness. The sounds provided are "Italian concert piano," a bright-toned "Jazz piano," and a beautifully resonant "Ballad piano. Electric piano This instrument uses a Natural Weighted Hammer Action (NH) keyboard that reproduces the same feel that results from the hammers on a real acoustic piano, where the low register is heavier and the high register is lighter. The keybed is sensitive and responds to nuanced touch at the tip of your fingers. All I wish is that Korg should have included a simple LCD display with the update because it will be hard to tell what sound is active and what tempo the metronome is currently set. KeysKorg’s NH ( Natural Weighted Hammer Action) keyboard, which is identical to the keys of the previous B1 series. I’m looking at the studiologic norma compact 2 interesting, not if you know it. It says that the keys are semi-weighted; but I don’t know if they are like the korg b2n or better. Here is why I say it is good for beginners and intermediate players because this piano has a mode called Partner Mode, which splits the keyboard into two halves, and each having the same key range.
