About this deal

The Morphy Richards Verve Toaster is budget-friendly toaster with a range of great features. We love the levers, which allow you to lift and look as your bread toasts, and the slider dial means you can adjust your level of toasting completely. Despite the name, the Breville More Plus 4 Slice Toaster does not have four slots in it. Instead, it has two different bread slots that are for fitting a variety of things. It can cook crumpets, but it does not have a setting for bagels. Bought to match the kettle. We do need a 4 slice toaster. It looks good and has quite a nice special mode for bagels or other items where it only toasts on one side. The items pop up quite high so I have not had to prise things out like I did with our previous model. If you are willing to tolerate some finagling with this, it is an easy-to-use and effective toaster at your basics. It has a high-lift level so you can see your bread as it progresses. You can even stop the process with a button right upfront. If there’s just one or two of you and you’re not a fan of fancy loaves then we’d say a simple two-slot model with just a couple of functions will probably suffice. Two slot models are also better if you’re a bit tight on space as it’s a product that usually has a permanent, easy-to-access home on your worktop.

This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. While it’s the unique patented ProHeat elements are virtually indestructible, if anything should go wrong, parts are super easy to replace or repair. That makes this a sustainable, quality and durable buy - the full works. As well as a decent variable control to give you your chosen perfect shade of brown, you should also look for defrost and keep warm functions. The DeLonghi Distina Flair is another toaster that is consistent across the board with quality toasting. Again, it has two slots that can handle complicated bread and smaller bagels or crumpets. All of these toasters bring heaps of style to any kitchen counter, and come in matching sets so that you can pair your new toaster with one of the best kettles.

With our review out of the way, we can confidently say that the DeLonghi Distinta Flair CTI2003 has won this competition for the best toast NZ has available. It is the only reasonably priced toaster that combines all of the features we have discussed throughout this. It is only missing an audible beep and a mechanical lift. It is just as effective as the Kambrook when it comes to all potential toasting, including the problem with the one piece of toast we mentioned earlier. It also manages to overcome the issues with larger, more complicated slices of bread. As a foolish youth, I thought that toasters could only readily handle bread. Everything else was a gamble. You can blame my parents for that one, but as I made the discovery that I could toast smaller items with the right toaster, it was a game-changer.

For couples and families, a four-slot or four-slice model is a better option – ensuring preparing toast for your brood at breakfast-time or simply serving up eggs on toast for two is an altogether speedier affair. If you’re fixated on a particular look, don’t despair, many brands produce two- and four-slot toaster models that look the same. Why do I need a toaster? We also think the De'Longhi Ballerina Toaster is reasonably priced for how luxe it feels to use. While it does cost more than the Morphy Richards Verve, which is our second choice, its design is noticeably more sturdy and the toast comes out with far fewer lines on the bread. Covering all things appliance related, she regularly heads to Future's Test Facility in Reading to thoroughly put products through their paces. Everything else is about on par with what you may expect from the Kambrook. It has a frozen bread setting, a sliding crumb tray, and a cord storage. It even has a reheat setting, making it a natural selection for one of the best toasters in New Zealand. Whether you’ve accidentally left your toast in a bit too long, need to defrost a slice or two straight from the freezer, or want to reheat some toast that’s gone cold, the integrated controls will make it easy. It also has many of the features we have mentioned to this point. It has a cancel button for more control over the toasting. It also allows you a lift up handle so you can see the current status. It even has a sliding crumb tray for easy cleaning. Each toaster has a tolerance level for the smaller items it can take. Some of them have specific settings for bagels or crumpets. We will list them out below. A reheat button will automatically turn the browning down or reduce the time when you re-insert your toast. This setting is for keeping your bread warm as opposed to re-toasting it. You can turn down the browning for the same effect, but all models do come with this in some capacity. Audible Toast Alert With its sophisticated metallic grey finish and chrome detailing, this De’Longhi Distinta 4-Slice Toaster already has a lot going for it. But when you add in the fact that it makes slice after slice of perfectly browned toast (there are six shades to choose from), we’re sure you’ll be able to find space for it in your kitchen, preferably alongside the matching kettle. You heard that right - the technology within this toaster is automatically monitoring the toasting time of your slice, so that it never overdoes it. And once you've got to optimal toastiness, you can save your settings for the next round. It weakens a little bit with a single slice, which is typical given that there is typically too much heat to one slice. If you want to use the more complicated bread with several seeds (such as Burgen Bread), you may also run into some complications.
