About this deal

A Guide to House Coding House Coding Ei168RC RadioLINK Bases, Ei100MRF RadioLINK+ Modules or Ei3000MRF SmartLINK Modules It provides wireless interconnect between alarms, i.e. when one alarm is triggered, all alarms in the system sound.

Please let us know should you like to discuss anything and we’ll get you in touch with an electrician who can provide a professional advice! Step 4 – Remove the screwdriver and the blue LED will flash once every 5 seconds (approx.) to indicate that it is in House Code mode and is looking for other alarms. Turn the mains power to the alarms off in the property and ensure the green indicator light on the alarm is off.

Alarm Interconnection

RF Visual Indicator: Amber light flashes continuously for 1.5 to 3.5 seconds while transmitting RF signal Never ignore a beeping alarm, as it is a warning sign of either a danger in the home or that an alarm needs maintenance. If the alarm contains AudioLINK – Once the alarm has stopped activating and it is safe to enter the property extract a report to identify the details of the incident. Features built-in tamper proof Rechargeable Vanadium Pentoxide lithium standby cells, capable of lasting at least 10 years and powering the module initially for at least 2 months in the event of mains power failure. The cell manufacturer endorses a minimum 10-year life expectation for the rechargeable cells, which are activated by operating the battery switch inside the module. If you have more than one alarm in the property and they are interconnected, this will also trigger all the other alarms in the property.

If the alarms are sounding, there may be a fire present. You should evacuate the property and be absolutely sure there is no fire before returning. If in doubt, always assume there is a real fire present and take the necessary action. Insert a flat headed screwdriver into the removal slot of the alarm. This is marked with an arrow. Make sure you keep the screwdriver horizontal (i.e. parallel to the ceiling).

Performing a regular test is a vital part of ensuring continued Fire and Carbon Monoxide detection. Alarms should be tested monthly to ensure everything is working correctly. The product is CE marked to indicate conformance to BS EN 60065:1998 (Electrical Safety), EN300220-1 V1.3.1 (2000-09) (RF Performance), EN301489 V1.4.1 (2002 08) (EMC) and has been 3rd party tested for electrical safety in accordance with Annex K of BS 5446: Pt.1:2000. If RadioLINK+ is used, ensure the alarms have been House Coded together correctly. They may have been connected to a nearby system. Reset and House Code again. All Aico alarms have a date-code label on the side of them which tells you exactly when the alarm was made and also the recommended replacement date.

Once the system has been set up, information can be accessed securely from within or outside a property if access is an issue. Event logs can be retrieved as many times as necessary and for each alarm on the system, retrieving data such as how many direct button tests have been performed and when, any issues with the battery and/or mains supply, Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels detected if a CO alarm is on the system, Radio Frequency signal strength between alarms, age of alarms and any alarm removed. The Ei168 RadioLINK Base transmits a radio frequency (RF) alarm signal when the unit attached to it senses fire. When it receives an RF signal from another Ei168 Base, the attached alarm will sound. It therefore eliminates the need to install long interconnect wires between all the alarms on different floors in different rooms. The 160e Series and Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm use a RadioLINK Module,Ei100MRF,directly into the head of the alarm to gain RadioLINK+ capabilities instead of a base. You will know when you need to change the battery, as you will hear a single regular beep (low battery warning) coming from the alarm, however it is recommended that you change the battery every year.

Is there anything on the same circuit that could be causing electrical interference, e.g. a fluorescent light starter or a central heating pump? Our goal is to provide one stop place for electricians and electrical contractors, but we are happy to help other clients too. The red indicator on the alarm attached to the Ei168 Base will flash rapidly to show an alarm condition for the smoke detector Now test the alarm by pressing and holding the test button on the front of the unit. The unit should make an alarm sound and also activate any other alarms in the property.
