About this deal

As well as this BOSS have developed a guitar to MIDI link that will function with Guitar Friend Jam and other software. Luckily, since it’s a USB 2 connection, you know it’s not going to be drawing a huge amount of power. The GT-001 also has a stereo aux input, perfect for connecting a smart phone or drum machine for jamming when you’re not connected to your computer.

The question now arises: can you replace an entire studio setup just by putting one of these things on your desk? If you're familiar with Roland's COSM modelling, you'll know what to expect here: patches built from two effects chains with amps and a huge choice of effects types all geared to give a fully produced guitar sound - and not just a static one at that. If you just want access to the GT's modelled sounds without having a large floorpedal, Boss has introduced the GT-001, which takes all of the amps and effects found in the flagship GT-100 Version 2. SCAMMER WARNING: Due to a spate of recent scam attempts (some successful) recently, if you're doing a deal in the classifieds, ONLY USE PAYPAL GOODS AND SERVICES UNLESS YOU KNOW THAT INDIVIDUAL PERSONALLY.If you’re totally new to USB recording, digital FX in general, or just want a “plug and play” solution to make some noise, the GT-001 definitely isn’t a good choice. Chain everything together and the thing explodes into life, and the range and versatility of the sound is incredible. USB power is a “bit complicated”, and if you’re using the 48V phantom to power an XLR microphone it will be slightly higher, but it’s not going to run up your electricity bills if you forget to turn the thing off. Edit; Realized I wasn't clear enough; is the Boss a good enough interface to replace the UR22 is what I'm mainly wanting to know. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

But, to make another Steam comparison, this software will be installed for you or you will at least be told where to get the software.Edit - from a quick glance on YouTube I think it might well be the midi setup in Reaper that's the issue. In addition to the guitar input, an XLR mic input is included for capturing vocals or acoustic instruments, and the built-in USB audio/MIDI interface provides a direct connection for creating music with your favorite DAW. It comes with an FX send jack as well, so it’s easy enough to connect a pedal with expression control into the chain. It would have been logical to bundle the installer with Air, or just put a prompt on the screen if it detects you don’t have it.

On a fast Macbook Pro - the GT-100 V2 and GT-001's monophonic Guitar to MIDI latency triggering on Roland Core Audio USB drivers , using Apple Mainstage or Garageband's AU synths is substantially lower than the GT-001 > USB> Windows PC w/ Roland ASIO Audio USB driver experience. We use cookies to analyse site usage, provide social media features and personalise content and ads. While the Boss GT-001 is not setup for synths straight out of the box, it can handle them very well once you go in and tweak the patches.software—BOSS’ top-of-the-line processor for stage performers—and patch data can be shared between the two units. The box works great for patch change an CC info from any MIDI device, however, I am unable to get the GT-001 to receive MIDI clock. Finally, my initial Favorite D patch is a dotted 8th note delay which is fun to play along with the Boss RC-202. It also has an XLR mic input - with phantom power for condenser mics - so you can record vocals and acoustic guitar.
