All that social media has done is really reminded us all that we're monsters, and that we have that power."

Through it all, Jamie Lee Curtis still captivates at Laurie and gets to show off something different to the rage-fuelled Laurie of the previous two movies. She even gets to be happy for one brief moment (a rarity for her throughout the entire Halloween franchise), but when the time comes for her to get violent and deliver a one-liner, she's as good as ever. The Visions of Terror –See how various production departments came together to achieve the film’s unique visual style. In the world of Halloween, the timeline can be moulded to fit whatever idea might come next. However, that doesn't mean Halloween Ends can't be approached as a finale, because that's definitely what the marketing wants you to think. The latest TV spot for the final movie in the reboot trilogy is released. It features the iconic score and the line; 'This time, it will be different' delivered by Jamie Lee Curtis. ( Source: Screen Rant) Halloween Ends does eventually come to the face-off that it's promised and delivers on it in bloody style. We've seen many Laurie vs Michael variations before, but Green finds a fresh angle on it to add a definitive flourish. Were Halloween Ends the middle part of this particular trilogy or a standalone instalment, you'd write it off as an interesting, if unsuccessful, attempt at something new. But the movie's position as the culmination of the franchise exacerbates its failures as it's not only not giving you what you expected, it hasn't replaced it with something compelling either. However, Shane isn't just a movie guy. He also loves video games. Super Mario Sunshine, The Last of Us Part 1 and 2, and Batman: Arkham City are some of his favorites. Music plays a big part in his life as well. Given that Shane's a big horror fan, you might be surprised to learn that he's a pop guy. Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, The Jonas Brothers, and Demi Lovato play on repeat while he's writing. If your biggest Halloween Kills complaint was that it was just a series of killings in place of a plot, then Halloween Ends is the reverse of that. For the final outing, David Gordon Green has slowed things down for a different kind of Halloween movie, but it only really leads to other problems.

Halloween Ends is a slasher horror movie directed by David Gordon Green and produced by Blumhouse Productions. It is a direct sequel to 2021’s Halloween Kills and the thirteenth feature in the long-running Halloween franchise – which is best known for bringing the white-masked, knife-wielding Michael Myers to the big screen. The screenplay for Halloween Ends is co-written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride.

Say what you will about Halloween Ends, but it’s refreshing that after the filmmakers and the studio behind it played things safe for two films they decided to take the leap and do something drastically different that’s not just entertaining, but supersedes the films that came before it. Most will hate it because it’s not a true closing to a trilogy, but I frankly don’t care. I wasn’t entirely interested in seeing the film after the previous one, but it exceeded my expectations. Regardless, the UHD presentation is top notch, but now that this series is over, let’s get a boxed set together with some substantial bonus materials for a change. Enough with the fluff. Though it only just hit cinemas, the 13th entry in the long-running horror franchise is getting a pair of 4K Ultra HD steelbooks courtesy of Zavvi. In the effective cold open, set one year earlier, we see the events that led to Corey being accused of killing the boy he was babysitting. It was an accident, but the legacy of Michael Myers has infected Haddonfield which has "turned in on itself". There's always got to be somebody to blame, and Corey is the unfortunate soul.

The audio commentary features director and co-writer David Gordon Green, production assistant Hugo Garza, and co-producer/first assistant director Atilla Salih Yucher, with actors Andi Matichak and Rohan Campbell joining in via Zoom. It’s an upbeat chat between the five with some good information about the production doled out, and it’s apparent that they all seemed to genuinely have a good time working together. It tends to drop out occasionally, but not for long, and David Gordon Green is primarily in the driver’s seat. It’s kind of frustrating that they mention or allude to other behind-the-scenes moments and deleted scenes that are not included with this release because, as such, the bonus materials (outside of the commentary) are fluffy, self-inflating, and lawyer-approved. It’s basically EPK type material about how great the film is without getting much into the nitty gritty. Final Girl examines Jamie Lee Curtis’ impact on the franchise while No Place in Haddonfield talks about the town, the people in it, and how Michael has affected them. Ending Halloween discusses closing the book on this trilogy of films, A Different Threat talks about Corey, and The Visions of Terror talks about Michael and his look. Last is Twisted Deaths, which discusses the various death scenes and how they were achieved. The second steelbook has a more muted aesthetic, with a blood splatter coloured in blue. The iconic villain is also wielding a weapon in the artwork. However like I say... the fans of the Franchise will Buy the Steelbook to add to their collection.... Instead, Halloween Ends is about something else altogether, and that will prove frustrating for fans. Like Halloween Kills, it expands the mythology and legacy of Michael Myers, putting a new-ish spin on the series. We've seen similar takes before, although if we pointed out the Halloween sequels Ends closely resembles, it could be a spoiler.

A new TV spot is released. The new clip features Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) hiding in a secret place, waiting for Michael Myers to forget her. ( Source: Collider) Four years have passed since the events of "Halloween Kills. Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her granddaughter Allison Nelson (Andy Matichak) have recovered from the death of their daughter and mother Karen (Judy Greer). They're trying to make a fresh start -- without the constant fear of Michael Myers. The women move into a cozy house, hide their guns in the basement, and even establish a personal life. Lonely Allison falls in love with Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), the guy who accidentally killed a child and became the main object of hatred for the townspeople after the masked maniac disappeared. But Myers doesn't doze off: As the calendar flips to October 31, blood, murder, and horror will once again descend on the small town of Haddonfield in a purple wave. Only this time is sure to be the last. At least, that's what the film's title promises. RELATED: Former Halloween Stars Blast Laurie and Michael's Final Battle: 'What the Hell Is Going On?'While most fans of the Halloween franchise won’t agree with me on this, Halloween Ends is the best Halloween film in a very long time, perhaps even over the 2018 reboot/sequel, which I also enjoyed. For the majority of its running time, it’s not a film about Michael Myers returning to stab a bunch of folks and have it out with Laurie Strode in the end. We’ve seen that several times over, and what’s refreshing about Ends is that it examines the impact of Michael Myers, sidelining him and allowing a new character to not only inhabit his visage, but analyze what would drive somebody to commit such evil. None of it’s cut and dried, nor is it definitive in any way, but watching the tragic trajectory of a character in a world that hates him is well accomplished in this film. Michael Myers popping up in the final minutes to have yet another tussle with Laurie Strode is a tired afterthought, one that the entire marketing campaign was based upon. Whether that was intentionally misleading is another discussion altogether, but I found myself drawn in by the story more than I originally thought I would be. Taking such a drastic left turn this late in the franchise, especially when it’s meant to end this new trilogy of films, is subversively intriguing. Was going to give 4 stars as I actually liked the film , a treat to hear one of my favourite bands the dead kennedys on the film. Audio Commentary with David Gordon Green, Hugo Garza, Atilla Salih Yucher, Andi Matichak, and Rohan Campbell A Different Threat –As Haddonfield evolves to a new era, we examine how the evil within has also evolved. The most acclaimed and revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying finale as Laurie Strode (Curtis) faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney)," Universal's official synopsis for Halloween Ends reads. "Michael hasn't been seen for four years after the events of Halloween Kills. Laurie lives with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and has chosen to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. When a young man is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, a cascade of violence and terror is ignited with a final confrontation between Laurie and Michael unlike any ever captured on screen. Only one of them will survive."
