About this deal

Using a very high proportion of sloe berries to spirit gives a rich natural flavour which is then gently sweetened with sustainably sourced organic sugar.

Boatyard Double Gin is the essence of Fermanagh brought to life with earthy tones from the family farm foraged botanical, Sweet Gale. The Boatyard Distillery is the work of Joe McGirr (who previously worked at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society), Darren Rook (founder of the London Distillery Company) and Greg Dillon (from GreatDrams. The ‘double’ in Boatyard Double Gin refers to the distillation process and a purist’s approach of placing juniper at both the start and end of the process. Light and elegant on the palate, the floral notes are balanced by the sweetness of the licorice root, with a hint of vanilla that develops on the finish.

unless we get written confirmation from you that this is acceptable and that you will take full responsibilty if the parcel goes missing.Joe’s vision was inspired by his family’s rich farming history – from grandad Brian who was a ploughing contractor to father Michael who was a dairy and beef farmer, the McGirr family have been part of the fabric of Fermanagh for centuries. By exposing it to juniper at two separate points in its creation, the distiller can create a gin with a more complex and pronounced juniper flavour. This double contact method, which Dutch genever distillers would term ‘dubbel gebeide genever’, results in a more pronounced juniper flavour. The collected spirit has pure water added to it before resting for a minimum of 2 weeks before we bottle and label.
