However, Elit is set apart from other Stolichnaya vodkas due to the freeze filtration process the spirit undergoes. As the vodka lingers in the mouth its character unfolds with classic wheated notes of sweet aniseed and pepper, into a very long, soft spicy finish. First launched in California in mid-2004, Stolichnaya Elit is made from Russian Alpha Spirit distilled from winter wheat and filtered through quartz sand, Siberian birch charcoal and cloth filters.They have also made it clear they stand with Ukraine and don't support either Putin or his war of aggression against the Ukrainian people.
The liquids density increases causing all the impurities to freeze against the walls of the filtration tanks. The brand's age-old distillation process really shines in this crystal clear, pure grain-based formulation that's both clean and creamy at the same time.
