About this deal

For a traditional approach of slow stitching to create luxurious seams and lavish embellishments, look no further. This title is a spectacular encyclopedia of embroidery, sharing valuable techniques passed down through the generations from mother to daughter. A highlight is the visual guide section , with labelled smaples of all 149 stitches and where to find instructions - you'll wonder how you ever worked without it. Buy this book to learn what embroidery can do for you! Not to leave out the right-handed stitchers, Yvette has also written the Right-Handed Embroiderer’s Companion. Today, I want to introduce you to Elisabetta Sforza’s newest embroidery book, Di Rosa in Rose– From Rose to Rose, a collaboration between two artists: Patrizia Silingardi who paints with watercolor, and Elisabetta Sforza who paints with thread.

Elisabetta sets her book in an imaginary setting that helps deliver a certain “mood” to the whole book. It’s quite nice and poetic! There’s a somewhat romantic sense here that lends itself well to these designs. The featured embroidery books in this buying guide cater to both beginners and advanced embroiderers, offering step-by-step instructions and illustrations to help improve skills. Colour theory is covered with the inclusion of a colour board of fabric, threads and beads explaining hues, tints, shades and values. Design and construction are also covered - the book has a vintage feel and this is very evident in this section. Design basics are well explained but bigger pics would have been better here as in other parts of the book although larger versions are shown elsewhere. A very good idea is the Colourful Creations section where anIf you are a fan of floral motifs, if you like decorative alphabets, if you yearn to stitch beautiful linens and other useful items, if you’re keen on realistic and somewhat dimensional embroidery, if you love having guidance with assembling a variety of color palettes, this book is for you! Where to Find It

Like Elisabetta’s other books, From Rose to Rose offers instructional content in both Italian and English. You’ll find subtle salmons, vibrant purples and fuchsias, delicate pale pinks, muted lavenders, whites – a whole range of lovely color palettes for the projects. This is an unusual and rather charming book. It describes itself as a Visual Resource of Colour& Design. It takes readers through the basics of fabrics, stabilizers and embellishments, all colourfully depicted with well-illustrated examples. These books also give guidance on how to put stitches together to create a beautiful finished project. Different options included in the buying guide run the gamut from traditional embroidery techniques to more modern approaches. Some present stitches which can be used to embellish garments and home decor, while other patterns are meant to be used to create wall hangings and projects that are truly works of art in their own right. Many of these books give step by step instructions for both creating individual stitches and putting them together to create larger motifs. Whichever book from this guide you choose, it will help you expand your embroidery skills, whether you are just beginning or have a great deal of experience already.

In fact, there is a section in the book dedicated just to the question of adapting the designs to different projects and uses. Very nice! You’ll find line drawings of the alphabet, for those who wish to stitch decorative initials with the rose designs… Traditional arts like embroidery and cross-stitch are proving they’re not dying or outdated, and these modern embroidery books prove it. Every year there are tons of new books and creators releasing patterns and designs that keep the tradition of needlework alive and add some fun new flair to it. We’re even putting embroidery on book covers! A Flower Alphabet– featuring an abundant and gorgeous floral alphabet and matching decorative elements with lots of stitches & textures. More to Come! The photograph on the front of this book definitely possesses the wow factor, and invites the reader to delve into a colorful world of enjoyable stitching pleasure. Perhaps a better name for it could be The Crazy Patchwork Book as this is what the book is mostly about; using the 149 stitches and ideas to decorate scraps of fabric sewn together. This is not exactly a primer, as there are no step-by-step projects in here but that is not the aim of the book. Instead you are given the tools to create your own masterpiece, by which I mean stitch diagrams, lots of examples and information about how the finished pieces have been made.Search Press supports the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising of the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA), the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC), and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA). There’s a full alphabet with roses (6 cm or 2.3 inches tall), 14 decorative motifs (scrolls, garlands) that can be adapted to other projects, instructions for embroidering the drawings with diagrams for all the stitches, and 12 different color interpretations. This book has an old-fashioned approach to colour and stitch that works well although I think that rather too much has been crammed into it to do justice to the delightful work. For summer, I love this deep yellow and red combination – it is warm and a little sultry. It reminds me of looking over a summer landscape bathed in hot sun, while sitting in the shade surrounded by the scent of flowers and the buzz of bees. Enchanted August!
