About this deal

Each kind of music, be it 70’s guitar tunes, pop music, or saxophone music, or even beautiful music that comes out of violin strings, all can listen in a perfectly detailed way with this. Many people have owned the HD 650 for a decade-plus, and given that they have replaceable cables and are very well made, they should last for a very long time if treated right. Should you buy it? Thank you! Oh a comparison between awesome sundaes and headphones would be quite cool, right? It’ll be a great test between the foodie vs audiophile in you. Haha. I know it’s a typo, just kidding! I couldn’t help myself there. 😉 Four years ago there was even a meme on the then-fabled HD8XX (with an entire saga between said memer and Massdrop thereafter), and years after that the masses continued clamouring on and on for the HD6XX-equivalent to the HD800. For years the community heard nothing… right up to the beginning of 2021. More importantly: in addition to critical listening for fun and relaxation, I use these every day for work as a composer/sound designer. I need a fairly neutral, accurate sound with very high attention to detail and precise imaging.

The Music style I usually listen are classical music, Japanese Pop and female singers, such as Beyonce and Celine Dion. As a result, it might not give the sound you want if you connect it with your phone. It will be good to use with computers, however, you will still need an app for that so that you can get the exact sound you need. The cable length has also been shortened from a studio-friendly 10 feet to a tighter 6 feet. Total weight is 9.2 ounces, and these babies have some serious clamping force. That’s alleviated by the soft padding, making it easy to wear the 6XX for long listening sessions, although your hair will get appropriately disheveled by those mondo earpieces. Sound The HD 6XX are a welcome and brilliantly executed second generation for one of Sennheiser’s best values, and a chance to nab easily accessible audiophile sound for a serious bargain. Is there a better alternative? They feel "cheap", as in lightweight and plasticy. But, I actually don't mind this at all, so don't think of it as an insult. I just wanted to mention that because I feel someone will equate that with not “feeling premium”. Thanks to the open construction, the stage has a lot of space in the width, but it is somewhat limited in the vertical. This means that the sound information is displayed in a somewhat compressed form when compared with the AKG K/Q701, for example. However, this gives the HD6XX a pleasant intimacy and it has a robust foundation. Now, it does have surprisingly good imaging chops and presents music in a fairly wide stage with good (but not amazing) instrumental positioning, but that’s almost expected given its earspeaker-like configuration.

Introduction Empire Ears is a brand name that many would associate with luxury and, to a certain extent, excess. Whether I bought HD 6xx in Nov 2016. Before I got this, I already got ATH AD1000x, ATH M50x, and Massdrop X AKG K7xx. So I will compare HD 6xx to these three headphones. All in all , despite of the cheap price . 6xx is at most a mediocre headphones. I would not recommend this at all . In this headphone, the little unevenness there is in high-frequency sounds causes mostly by similar sounds and cymbals, with which one will get used to soon. The transients are well defined and crisp, and their decay into ambiance happens naturally. There are more examples, of course, but at the end of the day there is very little to argue in favour of the HD8XX’s tonal balance. It has the Hifiman centre-mid dip taken to an almost caricatural level that I’ve never heard in another headphone before, so while meaner fellows like I would brand the HD8XX as a terrible, no-good, very-bad headphone, the nicer amongst you may perhaps call it “unique-sounding”. Put mine in a Porto Pro headset and installed some Yaxi pads. Used a bunch EQ presets, that all kind of sound the same (SoundSource on the Mac). Used and Schiit IEMagni desktop rig. Otherwise, this headphone doesn’t have good extra features that can help you to use it everywhere or take calls or other stuff as it is completely performance-centric. It doesn’t provide much convenience, only audio quality. Introduction The Fragrant Zither (still can’t get used to this over-the-top name hidden behind its simple acronym) burst out of Some headphones in the price range produce better bass, such as Meze 99 Noir's. But, the HD6XX are in general much more revealing and accurate across the rest of the frequency range than other headphones in this price range.

Disclaimer : All my words are based on my own experience with senn hd6xx. My own feeing is biased and possibly quite different from others . :) which I fully recognize and respect. Among all the audio brands in the market, the Sennheiser is one of the most esteemed brands. They have been producing very nice and quality headphones for quite some time and their headphones have met the needs of audiophiles in a great way. Recently they have released two different models of headphones which are Sennheiser HD6XX and Sennheiser HD650. The long awaited update where 46 new headphones get ranked, along with a big overhaul of existing entries. From the headband, the velvet-lined ear pads distribute the spring force very comfortably and there’s also plenty of depth to the earpieces. The earpieces fit really well on the ears and cope well with sudden head movements. And the lead is immune to friction noises, which is impressive.

The KSC75’s bass is surprisingly punchy and comes with enough impact to make me not completely dismiss for personal use, though obviously I wish for more low-end extension. The upper-midrange is forward and some might say intense, but nothing that I would constitute as a hard dealbreaker (especially considering the price, which I will get to later). I’m quoting this as proof that your problem with me seems to be more personal than objective, else you wouldn’t have mentioned this irrelevant point at all. On lower end gear, the gap between quality overall in bass between these two is not significant at all and sometimes feels too close to call which is objectively cleaner. The HD58x Jubilee has very low to end of moderate levels of bass quantity and doesn’t respond very well to bass boosting. If you are a basshead, grab a set of JVC SZ2000’s, haha! More than a decade after debuting, the HD 650 have gotten a refresh (sort of), and you might even say they’re better than ever. This second coming of the HD 650 was actualized in the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX, the result of a collaboration between the storied audio brand and the “audiophile” subset of Massdrop’s commerce community that have proven extremely popular — so popular, in fact, that the company is still selling them years later. Headphones not only gives great audio experiences, but it also keeps you isolated from the noise of the outside world, and lets you enjoy music peacefully without any interference. So for enjoying music and other things, you must own good headphones.
