He recreated the original Atari hardware on a single chip, allowing games to run as they originally did. I just have a soft spot for it and several other games my uncle had on his VCS - afterschool my sis and I used it probably more than he did, and Sky D was always good for a laugh. A Wikipedia page notes the Flashback system was designed by "Atari veteran Curt Vendel" and that it was "unpopular with some purists" (in other words, anybody who knows anything about classic games). My only complaint is I've had so much fun in Sprint 8 that now I wish Atari's Sprint 4 and Indy 4 were here as well, not to mention Sprint One and Indy 800 from Kee Games (Sprint 2 from Kee is on the Code Mystics collection, but that would've been great to see as well).
