About this deal
Esme is clearly a private person, despite some funny shocking reveals, she still so vividly depicts Central Saint Martin, friendship, and work passion. A celebration of a creative life lived differently, Behind the Seams is a reminder that it's never too early, or too late to pick up a needle and start stitching in a new direction.
I especially loved reading the sections where she said about the films she had worked on, and one of my favourites being Bridget jones Diary with that classic bunny girl outfit! I’d highly recommend if you’re a fan of Sewing Bee and just want to find out more about Esme, it was a really lovely read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The midsection of the book however became a catalogue of her Swanky Modes design collections and lacked the intimacy that made the other parts of the book so endearing.
I love The sewing Bee, and love Esme Young who is a judge on the program, but the book was disappointing. I love the Sewing Bee and I love Esme's eagle-eyed critiques of the clothes, and the fun relationship she has with Patrick. The style of writing was also all over the place that I started to loose interest and finally gave up.
I adored the autobiography of Esme Young of The Great British Sewing Bee; it’s surprising, funny, and warm.I had no idea who Esme Young was, I got the book as I enjoy crochet, crafting and occasional sewing, and I thought there might be some good tips on sewing/clothing repairs.
