For main heroes, you have several options, some are more efficient than others, but all have a role and their usage will depend on the evolution of the meta and of course of the point adjustments. Some really hot at the moment are of course the Great Unclean One, the Glottkin (both monsters), the Lord of Afflictions and Spoilpox Scrivener.

Nurgle Rotbringers Gallowband is an elite warband extremely resilient as you would expect from a Nurgle army. There are few models available, but this also means almost everything is contained in the Vanguard box for some savings.Toughness is another value that can be increased with the Blighted Icon for a Triple. Now with Toughness 5 (or 6 for the Blightking with Shield), only the strongest units in the game can go toe to toe with them and the others will need to rely on critical hits.

To avoid this fate, the Blightking will in turn infect at least seventy-seven of the worshippers of other Chaos Gods. If they succeed in doing so the maggots in their body will cease eating them, and will instead congealed into diseased muscle and fat, bulking up the Blightking substantially. It is at this point they will be rewarded with their Rot Fly mount, becoming Pusgoyle Blightlords. [1a] Combat unit every 4 can be Beasts of Chaos units without the Tzeentch keyword and they obtain the Nurgle keyword.

One of the interesting elements of Slaanesh forces is that they’re a total glass cannon.** The army has no anvils to soak up the blows, so it can’t take much of a punch before it shatters. This means that you have to use your forces smartly or face obliteration, so you always need to be utilising your superior speed to choose your battles.

The other part that contributes to the resilience of the army is their 5+ ward (an after-save ability to negate a wound) and their ability to heal units in their own hero phase. Both ward and healing can be improved using various mechanisms and rules of the Maggotkin of Nurgle army. To make the legs even more convincing, I trimmed off the armour plates on the terminator legs so they could be layered onto the Blightking. They become battleline in a Drowned Men army or if a Lord of Afflictions is the general. And there’s few more benefits in having either: Drowned Men subfaction allows both the Pusgoyle and the Lord of Afflictions a free move after deploy, while the Lord of Afflictions can be set up in reserve together with Pusgoyle or Plague Drones, perfect for ambushing tactics.The blightkings are a new unit for any chaos army (WoC, DoC, Beastmen) EXACTLY like Morghasts were a new unit for Undead armies. Who Are the Maggotkin of Nurgle? Kieran: As an army, the Maggotkin of Nurgle have a little bit of everything. They can fight, they can shoot, they can move well, they’re insanely tough to kill, and they have access to both the summoning rules and powerful spells. They make a great all-comers army if you like to play a tactical long game. The good news is, they were good before, but now they’re even better!
