Tiddler is consistently late to school and when he gets to school he tells a tall tale about why he was late. The other fish say that he is just telling stories and they don’t believe him. This book is one of my favourites, we read this at least once a week. What lessons might the fish have at their school? Write a diary entry from the point of view of one of the fish, giving their thoughts about their lessons at school. Write a story about Tiddler riding somewhere on a seahorse. Where does he go to? What happens there? Such a fabulous book! The story is woven together brilliantly. Can you make a poster showing them and the creatures that they refer to? Fantastic read, very enjoyable bedtime book. Especially when you put different voices for tiddlers classmates and sea friends, one giggling child.Write a story about one of the other sea creatures shown in the illustrations. Could you write a story about one of Tiddler’s school friends? Identify all of the rhyming words that are used in the story. Can you think of other words that rhyme with these? Axel was born in Hamburg, Germany. At school he was good at art, but didn't think of a career in illustration until he won a cuddly purple cow in a drawing competition.
