About this deal

High use of swearing and good use of humour, some of the tracks can be found on Wank - the previous album, but are in a more refined format here, and much improved for it for the most part - though I can't help but miss the demo urgency of their predecessors.

It's all absolutely brilliant, and you'll not hear a more unsettling piece of music than 'Donkey''s dystopian half-hop all year. There's no special claims made for the city; no grandly romantic nonsense about its worth vis-a-vis other UK cities. This sounds like the nightmare of the real, boring, relentless revolution that Thatcher instigated and Cameron sweats awake to. Just after the release of 'Wank' the duo were invited to play a three day festival curated by Nottingham's Rammel Club. Just after the release of Wank the duo were invited to play a three day festival curated by Nottingham's Rammel Club.If you dig the cynical, parochial, outsider attitude of acts as diverse as MC Pitman, The Fall, John Cooper Clark, Half Man Half Biscuit, et al then you'll recognise the unapologetic, uncompromising mettle present here. If you haven’t already felt the movement, Sleaford Mods have been cultivating legions of impassioned fans. The dirty, homophonic pun of the track title ("Urine Mate") is quickly revealed, before the lyrics turn to even darker fare: pimps beating up women outside the bookies ("What have I ever done to you? I feel like this has retrospectively been acclaimed as some kind of 'state of the nation' address by critics ever since divide and exit came out when really it's the same miserable ranting they'd been doing for years, but this time happened to come out in the middle of a recession. This will make said orifices bleed and hurt, like wiping them with folded grease proof paper and not being able to flush.

And if you think "Mod" is just about dressing up like "page 7 Weller" and boring on about Small Faces all day and night on yer reissue 60s Vespa, then don't bother mate. So instead of Arthur Seaton, I want to suggest that Sleaford Mods carries on the tradition of another working class figure strongly associated with Nottingham – Ray Gosling, who passed away on November 19th. They're the kind of band that could easily have a cameo spot in a Shane Meadows film, say down a seedy backstreet Working Men's Club. They are known for their abrasive, minimalist musical style and embittered explorations of austerity-era Britain, culture, and working class life, delivered in Williamson’s thick East Midlands accent.Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased. It is a high octane and unrelenting blitzkrieg, railing against all things banal and vacuous in today’s world.
