About this deal

I bought this as a very special gift for someone and I am so happy to have received this before the party to give as a gift. On November 1, Mezcal Amarás will unveil its newest expression , with only 400 bottles released globally. Bottles in this Auction are never classed as brand new and Boxes/Bottles/Packaging etc may have marks or creases due to their age.

He is also involved the projects “El Mural del Milenio” and “El Arte del Vino” of MILENIO Arte, and he is the creator of a striking portrait of Fernando del Paso, painted for the National College in Mexico City. The single batch, limited edition launch was crafted from the rarest barrels and tequila aged up to 11 years for “absolute pinnacle of aged tequila,” said Richard Betts, co-founder and co-CEO of Tequila Komos. Of course, there are also the skeleton-painted faces of regional parades and private family parties where indigenous spirits are used as salutations for remembering loved ones. The marigold flower, known as the cempasúchil in Mexico, is another essential element of Día de los Muertos. Born from the encounter between cultures and worldviews, the celebration of Día de Muertos is one of Mexico’s most beloved and emblematic traditions.

Since papel picado is so thin, it moves with even the slightest gust of air and tends to only last the length of the ceremony. The multi-day celebration is for family and friends to get together in happiness, not sorrow, and remember loved ones who have gone before them. In a world where exclusivity has become a cherished hallmark, we wanted to capture a similar experience for mezcal enthusiasts through Horno.

At the end of September, ultra-luxury tequila brand Tequila Komos announced its newest expression, Komos XO.Master distiller Viridiana Tinoco undertook a 25-month ageing process for the release, with the añejo Tequila starting in American whiskey casks before being finished in Armagnac casks. And while it’s common to leave a pour of the deceased’s favorite tequila on the altar, you can also enjoy a cocktail in their memory. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends and even pets, everyone that was ever loved gets a space on beautifully decorated ofrendas.

Traditions and rituals vary in countries that celebrate Día de los Muertos and can even differ within the same country. Ofrendas, Spanish for offerings, are special memorials or non-religious altars adorned with gifts for the deceased consisting of a wide range of objects from photos and family memorabilia, to food and beverages — including, you guessed it, tequila. These casks’ unique character results from their provenance, Bas-Armagnac, where grapes grown in siliceous-clay soil end up imparting fine and complex fruit notes to the spirit,” master distiller Viridiana Tinoco told Observer, describing a layered bouquet of peach, pear, raisin, candied walnut and clove, with a lengthy finish of cacao and cinnamon. Tequila has a rich and long history deeply intertwined with modern Mexican culture as well as the ancient culture of the Aztecs.

The black, ceramic decanter is enlivened by the Aztec deity Quetzalcoatl and the fantastical creatures known as the Alebrijes. Furthermore, this Restricted Version is the first of five portions of our Día de Muertos series that will be uncovered before long. I opted for this kind of cask because Armagnac is a product that aligns with the values of Clase Azul México; its small-scale production reflects the history and heritage of the region where it’s produced and ensures the transmission of ancestral knowledge and traditions. Collectors will enthuse at the crystal decanter—maintaining the flagship Komos shape but transparent so as to showcase the warm, rich color of the tequila—marked with Batch No.

El Alebrije” is this year’s special release from Mandala ; a rich and full-bodied añejo tequila with warm notes of caramel in between soft, fruity notes courtesy of 24 months of aging in sherry casks. Each year, in most countries that celebrate this 3,000 year-old Meso-American custom, it is divided between October 31st through November 2nd (please see our FAQ section for an explanation of how each day is celebrated).Kah Day of the Dead Blanco Tequila Miniature 50ml: An intense spirit with notes of cooked agave garden herbs almond pesto sweet citrus and fiery pepper. The Blanco bottle is designed with white and black motifs to represent the practices of Bolivians some of whom keep the skulls of loved ones and bring them out each year on the 8th of November taking them to the cemetery and feeding them their favourite foods and in some cases even cigarettes and spirits.
