Smart resume printing: the printer will auto-pause when the filament runs out or breaks, and you can resume printing after a power outage. Elegoo brags about the new “TC4 titanium alloy” throat pipe, but there’s still a chunk of PTFE tube in there, meaning it’s not an all-metal hotend. To help ensure the correct cable goes to the correct part each one is labelled and uniquely sized connectors are used.
With an STM32 motherboard, all axes of ELEGOO Neptune 3 Pro are driven by silent stepper motors for quieter and more precise movement during printing, which reduces the noise as low as 47-48dB. Thanks to a magnetic PEI platform with good adhesion and high heat resistance, the printed part will peel off by itself once the build plate cools down. With my current machine I often set an alarm to wake me up through the night so that I can remove a finished print and start the next. The printers 225 x 255 x280mm is marginally wider and deeper than the standard Neptune 3 (5mm increase in both directions).I personally think that this a great spot for the memory card slot but I prefer the USB port on the side and failing that the rear. The self-developed mechanism of the direct dual-gear extruder guarantees an almost 3-fold extrusion ratio (3:1) and a stronger extrusion force for more precise prints. Resin leakage, scratch-resistant film damage, human damage, collision damage are not included in the warranty. I thought they would be gimmicky - when in fact I'm finding them very useful for illuminating the machine whilst preparing and actually printing the models. The Neptune 3 Pro having these fans always on is not only audibly annoying but also shortens the lifespan of the fans.
The XY-axis belt tensioner is more convenient to adjust belt tightness by simply rotating the hand-twist knob, and the widened Y-axis profile to make the printing platform more stable. PEI magnetic platform with a special coating and spring steel sheet for strong adhesion and anti-warping, so you can easily remove or eject the print models by slightly bending the print steel sheet. No worry about unexpected power off as the printer can recover from the power outage and continue printing.This allows us to push the limits of the machine such as overhang, bridging and retraction abilities.
Instead of using V-wheels slotting into aluminum profiles for the motion platform, the SV06 uses 8mm hardened steel rods and LM8UU bearings. I had no problem consulting them except I felt a little more instruction would be beneficial for the steps taken to run the auto bed levelling program. The printing platform decided to extend itself as I lifted it from the packaging which was not super helpful when getting it onto the table. Neptune 3 also comes with a guide wheel structure to reduce the feeding resistance of consumables and noise generation. There is a fan in the base designed to cool the components within - this fan however runs continuously, even when the printer sits idle with no heating of the nozzle or bed.
In comparison one of the pieces of the Original Neptune 3 printer was enclosed over two levels of foam making for a trickier than expected extraction of that part. During the warranty period, if the laser tube has any appearance cracks (including but not limited to cracks caused by improper handling or cracks caused by freezing temperatures), after-sales warranty services can't be provided normally. I will print the same one created by AutoDesk and Kickstarter I use on all FDM printers which I review. Having used the same sensor setup on the Neptune 3 Pro for a little while I now prefer this for several reasons; it reduces complexity of the print head, provides the system with earlier warning of filament run-out, and holds the filament strand whilst unloading/loading the print head preventing it from quickly knotting your spool of nicely pre-wound filament if you inadvertently let the end of the spool go. Had this a few days now and have to say this printer is amazing, it arrived well packaged with clear instructions that are easy to follow and I had it up and running in about 20mins, all the tools needed to assemble the printer are supplied along with a memory card that has a video on how to assemble should it be needed, I have printed a few items including the tool holder and every print so far has turned out perfect.
This is a substantial print size ability allowing you to print bigger objects in one piece, or many smaller/ standard size items unattended. The save option is not set because saving may cause a short pause of the print head during printing. It convinces not only with a sleek and modern design, but also with an extremely high level of user-friendliness! Standard versions of Cura or Prusa Slicer don’t have profiles for any of Elegoo’s printers, but you can use the profile for an Ender 3 Pro and adjust the build volume accordingly.
