I haven't really talked much about Alyssa's size so far, since were are so many other fun things to chat about, but it's important to note that she's quite small in comparison to other popular play dolls. Though the fact that the expression of the doll made her look disgusted, sad, even scary was a bad choice because again- that's the first thing a person will see- and they probably won't even know the "dirt/messed up makeup" faceplate is fake and can be removed.
I would brush their hair about 5 minutes before giving up and using shampoo to wash it all out, followed by a hot water rinse. I never have been a fan of the song "Walk Like an Egyptian," but I can't help thinking about it when I pose Mika like this! The only things I wasn't thrilled with were the surprise element (especially the face, since I couldn't check for messed up makeup on the real face and it made it really had to check for eye wonk, though not impossible) and the aforementioned quality issues. Every single character has their own skin tone, hair color, eye color, face paint style, and face mold.
Companies like MGA cause other lines like FailFix to just get blown away and ignored just because LOL and Rainbow High are bigger, have more to offer, and already have an audience. The outfits are easy to take off and restyle, with the hands also clipping off to make this a bit easier for children to do unassisted. The eyes are the most notable similarity, as both dolls have inset eyes with long inset eyelashes and heavy eye makeup. Finally, you can finish off your Fail Fix doll’s transformation using the included tools and accessories to create the look she was originally attempting to achieve. my doll's hair feels unpleasantly like cotton candy, but I'm planning on rewigging her at some point.Next time I'm fooling around with my Bratz I'll try some of their clothes on Mika; I threw this post together and didn't even think of the Bratz. As an aside, Monkfish noted that the artwork on this doll's dress looks eerily like the artwork of Miss Kika, who does indeed do artwork very similar to the figures on these dresses.
Parents, if you're planning on getting one of these for your kids, be prepared to step in for the box opening, because I doubt a child could do that part on their own. Twist her hair around the curling tools to give her beautiful, bouncy curls and complete the 'Red Carper Curls' look she was trying to achieve! Though Mika is a cute doll, her simple outfit, spindly body, and single-use gimmick come up a little short for me. weird to me that her shoes are tangled in her hair, would have preferred something like LOL does, with the shoes and dress in their own little package so it feels like more of a reveal/surprise.
Pull out all the accessories stuck in her hair, including her shoes and jewellery and then brush it out until the fail is gone. Unfortunately the instructions for her hair are extremely vuage and I couldn't work out what they wanted me to do with the butterfly clip.
