I was gifted a new black-cap bottle a couple of months ago and I can't say I understand the hate comments. Great scent for going out(not clubbing) with friends, ladies included, and of course, probably the best and the most unique one for date nights. Seeing most reviews below saying that this has poor longevity and sillage makes me think that my bottle, bought Spring 2023, is from a perfect batch since I get 10+ hours.

Also, the EDT seems to become a skin scent almost immediately---even with many (10ish) sprays on skin and clothing. The insence is what makes it so easy to wear because it takes the edge of the sweetness and blendes beautifully with the Guerlain-vanilla. I do note however that this isn’t a beast performer, and neither are the six other Guerlains I have - this is French-style, not Middle Eastern.It has something in common with the scents I notice from certain flowering trees at this lower latitude.

Personally, I can't smell almond in it, but then again when I bite into an almond the nut doesn't strike me as particularly fragrant.I absolutely love the opening, it gives me everything I was hoping for, but sadly it doesn’t wear well on my skin once it dries. All aspects of this fragrance are scaled for a gentleman, from the blending of the listed notes to the balance between the sweetness, smooth almond, leather/smokey accord, to the mild-mannered projection, being subtle, close to the skin, but long lasting. The cherry almond mixture in this EDP is surprisingly captivating – it’s very unique and classy yet also appealing.
