About this deal

Red Dwarf was edited because after it was first broadcast, McDonalds complained and I think threatened legal action if it was repeated as is, so they had to cut it for repeats and video/DVD release. And if you're not satisified, you can exchange or with a receipt, get your money back - no questions asked! Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. I’m sure many of you fans own or are aware of most of this lot, you could probably tell me of others and even spot some gaps in my collection.

Further left on the same row I think I can see True Lies, Goodfellas and a big brown several disc special edition of The Two Towers. The initial release of the SEASON 3 AND 4 set had season 3 episodes cut by 5 minutes each, while one of the specials was cut by 8 minutes.

This from the alternative comedy scene which many have long considered emblematic of the left-wing elite running the BBC; Bollocks! No one but a petty-minded bureaucratic fool trying to justify their job could have deemed that viewers would find that line offensive. Thinking back to that Terry and June quip at the start of this review, Bottom is pretty much a traditional television sitcom in structure. However,OFAH seems to have been singled out by some PC twat who has decided that "offending" dialogue like "Paki" etc is to be edited out. Interesting given his own conflicted relationship with Oxford University (he went there and is a a stereotypical Oxford product, but criticises the university in the press, and has forced devastating cuts on the university system at large). The 2001 tour consisted of 76 dates, which included a show at the National Arena in Birmingham to over 4,500 people. When everyone at school were talking about The Young Ones, my parents still defined wholesome, family comedy as Terry and June, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, and George and Mildred. During an appearance on Desert Island Discs in 2023, Edmondson revealed that he wrote the initial scripts with Mayall in the hope that they'd be declined by the BBC. Each show also featured regular breaking of the fourth wall as Rik and Ade interacted with the audience and, on some occasions, reacted to hecklers. An episode from the 1995 series has been pulled from the catch-up service of TV channel Gold over scenes that ‘could be deemed offensive to the Royal Family’.

Sanity is the Home of Country Music - if you're looking for a CD or DVD, if it's available, we will get it for you! After the latter ended in 1987, the pair "drifted away" for a period before reuniting after they caught the attention of producer and executive Paul Jackson, who had also worked on The Young Ones, and pitched initial ideas they had for a new sitcom. Several (but not all) of these scenes, as well as some smaller sections of dialogue also removed for timing reasons, are included in DVD releases. Does anyone else have any experience of the BBC editing DVD's so they differentiate from the broadcasted original show? In 2004, a DVD featuring a compilation of violent scenes from Mayall and Edmondson throughout their career, including scenes from Bottom, was released as Mindless Violence: The Very Best of the Violent Bits.Rik Mayall as Richard "Richie" Richard [8] He is "an old-fashioned moralist, hypocrite and small-minded virgin".
