In short, I wanted Mistwood to be more like the game advertised on the cover of the box where animals are teaming up to fight Nightweave, not like the one I’m used to playing with other players.You can build these legends for free if you already have the standard version of their card, which can be exciting, but it feels very luck-based. The solo mode, which I had berated for being too simplistic and rudimentary, turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the simple rules overhead and ease of managing the solo opponent’s actions made it ideal for my brain which at the time was shot to pieces. Tie breakers are necessary sometimes which can increase the time spent on their turn but it is still manageable and doesn’t detract from the overall game experience.
