About this deal

I have to say that this was NOT the case on every ride and despite the pads being thin, they do not compromise the comfort of the Giro Foray. In a lot of cases in the sport of cycling, weight savings usually only comes with an increased cost. The Giro Foray helmet looks great and with the colour and size options there is something for everyone. Ok the helmet itself has excellent ventilation and a clever airflow system but for those riders who sweat a lot, the thin padding doesn't quite do enough to channel the sweat away from the face.

Coming in as one of the lightest offerings in our lineup, the Foray MIPS registers at 312 g in size large, according to our measurements. For those looking to pinch pennies and grams, the Foray is also available in a non-MIPS equipped version, which might save you approximately 20 dollars and 20 grams of weight. Not much lets it down – in fact, if I had to nit-pick, I’d say the shell’s finish is the only thing that looks ‘cheap’, but there are matt options available in the seven different colours. The Giro Foray offers almost the same extremely aerodynamic shape of the Synthe, but boasts more air vents.US and Worldwide cycle helmet giants Giro have been creating and producing protective head wear for cyclists since 1985. This significant increase in air channelling makes a difference that riders will immediately feel and appreciate.

That being said, this really if a very good helmet which I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone from a 'new to cycling' rider to a 'been cycling for years' rider. In addition to external ventilation system, Giro have added channels on the inside of the helmet liner to act as exhausts for releasing the hot air build up inside the helmet. The addition of a MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) adds additional reassurance in case of an accident. A lightweight, comfortable, well-ventilated helmet with a built-in MIPS liner, this lid stands out for its amazing value. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head.

I tested the helmet on a couple of hotter days when the sun was unrestricted by cloud and the temperature sat in the mid 20's (these are hotter days in the UK). While it lacks some high-end luxuries found on the most expensive models, it makes up for it with low weight, good comfort and ventilation, and all-around solid performance. While some added features on other models are nice luxuries to have, those who just want the essentials in a light and comfortable package will appreciate the savings. In-Mould Construction - In-mould construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet’s impact-absorbing foam liner. Whether you're just getting started or an experienced climber, whatever your adventure needs, we have the gear.

With a similar looking design and similar features as Giro's pricier flagship models, the Foray would make an excellent choice for riders willing to sacrifice only some of the highest-end features for a solid all-around helmet that won't break the bank. We guarantee to replace or refund faulty products covered by manufacturers warranty subject to inspection of goods and manufacturers approval. Please be patient with us as we need to receive this confirmation from the suppliers before we can process your request for a replacement/refund. Giro applies their latest bike helmet technologies to deliver a cycling helmet that's aerodynamic and functions perfectly whatever you ride.
