This is the first book that I have read from Dakota Willink and I am very impressed with her writing, the way she hooks the reader. Despite this being a long book, it maintained its momentum throughout and the story built to its conclusion which sets the scene for the next instalment. The only way he could keep up with her was to follow the sharp scent of pine needles as they fell to the earth. However, both Krystina and Alexander are clinging to the secrets in their past, and neither of them are willing to compromise.

The only thing I can do is go back to being the man I once was—to the only place where I once knew control.
