It won't be suitable for younger kids because they may not have the patience to set up its pellets properly, and there's definitely room for them to be misused if they're firing at close range, but the rest of us are in for a treat. We have so much of it and it stays pretty inflated so you can continue to play with your toy throughout the day or days.
While that's mostly due to the rounds being forgiving, it can admittedly be down to technical hiccups instead. In addition, the shaking inherent in priming the blaster keeps ammo feeding quite well, at least until you reach the very end. Although there are still some wrinkles to iron out due to occasional jams and the hopper blocking your view while aiming, it excels in every other sense.The Legion also comes with a packet of hardened polymer orbs that took roughly 4 hours to fully rehydrate and expand.
However, one of the key differences is that it features a rechargeable battery (powered by a USB-C cable that's included) that fits into the handle like a magazine.
That included both range tests and trials of what it felt like to be hit with the rounds at various distances. As such, loading the Legion requires some finesse: fully pull back the lever, but don't keep the lever back for too long, and keep the Legion as level to the ground throughout the whole cycle. This awesome backyard blaster includes a 130-round capacity hopper and 300 hydrated Nerf Pro Gelfire soft super absorbent polymer projectiles. One of the only things that disappointed me about the Nerf Pro Gelfire Mythic was its penchant to get jammed every now and then, seemingly due to pellets becoming stuck when leaving the hopper rather than in the blaster mechanism itself. Packaged as little grains that look like orange-colored sand, they become at least 10 times bigger when submerged in water.
The ammo velocity is on the low end, but if you’re interested in gel ball, this might still be worth picking up, if only for plinking. NERF PRO GELFIRE SPRING ACTION LEGION BLASTER: the blaster has spring action priming, no batteries needed! When I took it out of the box, I shot a couple times and it didn’t feed very well matter-of-fact sometimes it double or triple feeds and doesn’t fire properly and works kind of unreliable.
The overengineering that prevented as many misfiring instances in the Mythic just can't be found in the Legion. NERF PRO GELFIRE FULLY AUTOMATIC NERF PRO GELFIRE X MRBEAST BLASTER: Fires up to 10 rounds per second.
