I’d rather know that before I start reading to keep things in perspective but perhaps that’s just me. This book is about Ho Fengshan, a Chinese diplomat stationed in Vienna in the mid-to-late 30's, just before WWII.

However, I was glad I decided to depart from my usual preference for crime thrillers and take a chance, as ‘Night Angels’ proved to be not only enjoyable but totally engrossing. Grace is the American-born wife of Dr Ho Fengshan, the Consul General of China, currently based at the Chinese consulate in Vienna. There is a dragon on each side of the blade with a gap at the mouth, from which fire is produced whenever danger or magic is near.

As tensions rise, Ho might not be able to stop the madness, but he can try to save lives; he begins issuing travel visa’s to China.

The Night Stars and the Night Hub are currently operating on Friday nights, from 7pm to 5am, and will soon be working on Saturdays. Where someone like Kate Quinn would have subtly weaved fact with fiction here there are pages of historical information, then a bit of the rather simple plot then back to the text book history etc. The Chinese diplomats are keen to negotiate promises of weaponry from the Germans, but they are led on a long political dance. There are similarities that The One God shares with the God that is worshiped in many religions today. By day, Fengshan is a warrior for his country and a fighter for humanity while secretly issuing thousands of visas to Jews to Shanghai to escape Nazi persecution. Performed in a low-key yet effective style by Angela Lin, Jesse Vilinsky and Feodor Chin, the novel focuses on Grace Fengshan, wife of a Chinese diplomat who is posted to Austria during a period of pogroms and other actions against the Jews. Through collaborating closely with police and council staff, you’ll receive training from the Met Police to learn to resolve conflicts and safeguard vulnerable people.All ranking officials in Khalidor are at least Meisters, but most offices do not appear to take strength into great consideration. Volunteers provide a range of practical support, such as handing out water bottles, organising safe transport home, and helping people to report crime.
