The film in itself is a really scary movie, and this low quality idea of filming, in my opinion, complemented that. The scenes themselves are less interesting than the commentaries, which steer clear of the "we ran out of time" kind of comments. As Murphy's character strolls around the eerily empty London streets, there's a palpable sense of dread that easily matches the overt intensity of the film’s higher-adrenaline attack scenes. Things don't stay simple, though, as West becomes drunk with power, forcing Jim to choose between his empathy and his survival.The performances are strong, the tone is refreshingly realistic, and the director brings a unique touch to the horror genre that sets the film apart from the crowd.

Twenty-eight days later, a bicycle courier named Jim (Cillian Murphy) awakens from a coma in a deserted hospital. Still, the audio offers a pleasing upgrade from the muddy sound package on the DVD, and fans will be happy to hear the improvements. While an argument can (and I’m sure, will) be made for Boyle's directorial intentions, in my book it can't justify a higher video score for this one. Along with great performances from some of my favourite actors, I got an intelligent and compelling story. The first finishes the flick on a darker note, while the second resembles the existing conclusion except it omits one character who dies here but not in the released movie.They reveal that while Jim was comatose, the virus spread uncontrollably among the populace, turning most people into vicious monsters ("the Infected") and resulting in societal collapse, possibly on a global scale.
