About this deal

There is something about her antics that i could continue to randomly read even tho its a middle way rating. The first season was Miss Marple-esque with a strong lead and support characters, with quirky locals. Can Agatha find the culprit and prevent the murderer as well as holding the perfect Christmas party?

I thought the book was extremely boring; I can’t even remember the plot (I think there was more than one murder, but I could be wrong), and a lot of serious topics (such as domestic abuse or sexual harassment) were treated way too lightly for my taste One of the main characters gets harassed at work, quits and joins the main character’s detective agency, gets abused at home by a drunk brother and ignored by her alcoholic mother, and goes to live with the main character. I enjoyed this well written and well plotted mystery with its believable characters and amusing dialogue and incidents. It's great that they're on good terms, but I would not stand for my ex to constantly let himself in my house without permission. Filming was originally due to start March 12, 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic forced production to shut down.During the dark, grey days of early December, the sleuth is obsessed by two things - the looming festivities, and her ex James Lacey. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. This year she is sure that if she invites James to a really splendid, old-fashioned Christmas dinner, their love will rekindle like a warm Yule log.

Never mind, I have got used to series now, and I have to say that this book has quite a convoluted plot, maybe a few too many murders (is she vying with the TV series, Midsomer Murders? Her new assistant the older detective gentleman, and the copper Bill are likeable characters, I'd rather read from their perspectives. Read all Agatha's in need of a well-earned break and with Christmas just around the corner it looks like the perfect opportunity to relax. One day she received an intriguing letter from a wealthy woman scared she would be killed by one of her children.MacCaddon is fine in the role but gives a much more restrained performance than Keith does in the other voices. In the same vein as Hamish Macbeth, M C Beaton gets away with it because you, as a reader, become fond of the characters and so when another book is churned out, you instinctively hope that maybe something good has at long last happened to the main character and so your loyalty hasn't been in vain, unfortunately as with Hamish Macbeth this never happens and you get to the end of another book saddened that you cannot get that time you have just invested, back again.

It was sort of a horrible experience, perhaps because of my age, to read about a protagonist so depressed about being older. Agatha hopes to have the best Christmas dinner party ever, and in a way she does, but so many unexpected things happen.Agatha is in fine form in this story still insecure, still trying to get emphysema, cirrhosis of the liver and of course a man in her life.
