About this deal

I admire him for being family-focused but it makes him seem even more distant, using a helicopter to leave the island and keeping his kids from much of his jungle life. He is an Honorary Colonel to the Royal Marines Commandos, the youngest ever UK Chief Scout, and the first ever Chief Ambassador to the World Scout Organization, representing a global family of some fifty million Scouts. From finding confidence to bouncing back from failure, Bear gives children the tools they need to survive and thrive in their own lives. Sharing personal stories from his toughest expeditions and capturing the exhilarating reality behind some of the hairiest survival missions, Bear takes readers up mountains and across oceans, through jungles and deserts. This book also goes through all the amazing people he has interacted with in his most recent shows - and it was amazing to read, especially about Obama!

Overall, I enjoyed this and would recommend it to memoir lovers or people who have enjoyed his work and want more background into various events during filming and information about other work and life for the author. persze nem hagyja ki a világsztárokkal, mint Federer, Obama, Julia Roberts, Channing Tatum, Scott Eastwood, Alex Honnold és másokkal kapcsolatos emlékezetes eseteit. I have tremendous respect and admiration for Bear Grylls and how his own family are so important to him. I absolutely love the little golden nuggets of faith and life lessons he throws in -lessons I want to incorporate into my family’s and my own life. You get his philosophical musings and his can-do attitude and more of a sense of who he is as a person than you get in the television series. Wild, but I have watched a few episodes and heard Bear Grylls talk about some of his adventures, so I had some background before diving into this book. I haven't read his first memoir, but this one focuses on how he got started in TV, the adventures he's had over multiple shows, and what his life is like today, and since I know him best from his show Running Wild, I thought this seemed like a great place to start!

He obviously has a big wall up and doesn't want to allow people to see behind it, and he gets very defensive about the many criticisms of how he faked elements of his early TV shows. Bear has suggested that these should be given at a special moment – perhaps at the end of the Scout term, the last night of a camp or after a challenge has been completed.
