In this Fellowship we begin to learn right relations with people who understand us; we don’t have to be alone any more. It reminds the reader that they are not alone, and in fact, are surrounded by a community who shares their experiences, both good and bad. Now I see how even my most distasteful past experiences can turn to gold because, as a sober alcoholic, I can share them to help my fellow alcoholics, particularly newcomers.

Daily Reflections can help both those beginning recovery and those who have been in recovery for a long time. Daily Reflections may allow you to, even if just temporarily, put aside negative thoughts and focus on the positive. Positive psychology is a newer and complementary branch of psychology that works to heal a person by promoting and focusing on internal happiness.

Very inspiratonal, thought provoking, supportive and good sense in each short reading, one for each day of the year.Even if you can’t attend a meeting, it helps to solidify the strength in your decision to change your life. This post-traumatic stress can hinder your road to recovery, as high levels of stress are associated with increased alcohol use. First I had to pour a big, thick concrete slab on which to erect the house; that, to me, was the equivalent of stopping drinking. Whether using the day’s reading as a source for their morning meditation, discussing it with a sponsor or sharing it with their home group, many in Alcoholics Anonymous consider Daily Reflections to be a critical tool in their “spiritual toolkit. A spiritual experience can be the realization that a life which once seemed empty and devoid of meaning is now joyous and full. While focusing broadly on the Three Legacies of Recovery, Unity and Service, this volume offers experience, strength and hope on specific topics such as willingness, faith, making amends — themes that recovering alcoholics must address each day — and reminds us that we are never really alone in Alcoholics Anonymous.Also, ir would be nice for there to be an introduction to the app explaining the history of the AA Daily Reflections and that the app is (or is not) word for word accurate to the current text in book form. In surrender I found victory—victory over my selfish self-indulgence, victory over my stubborn resistance to life as it was given to me. I said the Third Step prayer which can be found in Alcoholic Anonymous on page 63, “God, I offer myself to Thee – the build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt.
