This short novel is crammed full of great vocabulary, plenty of gaps in the meaning and enough for a reader to sleuth through whilst maintaining a tidy pace and highly memorable cast of characters.I also watched the studio Ghibly adaptation of this after and I'm honestly not sure how I feel about that one either.
