About this deal

Glenfarclas is one of the only family-run distilleries in Scotland and has been in the Grant family for generations.

You will defend (at our option), indemnify and hold harmless us and our parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, (sub)licensees, assignees, successors, authorized third party contractors from any and all loss, damage, claim, liability or expense (including reasonable outside legal fees and costs) actually incurred as a result of a third party claim arising out of a breach or alleged breach of your obligations, representations and warranties made herein. Palate: The sherry again is the star of the show at first, but then subsides into a big fruit, with some acidic qualities. The integration is something that I quite clearly don’t come across in the same way in younger whiskies. Glenfarclas means ‘Valley of the Green Grassland’ and the spring water, which ensures the verdant green grass, is essential to the distinct flavour of Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Whisky. The palate opens with notes of fruit cake, salted caramel and rich oak, developing buttery pastry, raisins and fruity espresso flavours and dry waxiness.

Below the sweetness is the same moody qualities as the nose with lots of old wood, baking spices, and leather creating great complexity for this whisky.

This bottling combines 10 of the last remaining quarter casks at Glenfarclas, of which the youngest was 25 years old. Smaller casks mean more of the spirit is in contact with the wood – the contents therefore mature faster, but also lose more to the ‘angel’s share’ than larger hogsheads (250L) or butts (500L). There it is combined with the finest malted barley, twice distilled in traditional, direct fired, copper pot stills and only the lightest and best fractions of alcohol are collected to be filled into the finest Spanish Sherry oak casks and lie maturing over many years.Rather than their usual battles on the martial arts mats they are going to let the whiskies do the fighting. The palate is clean with notes of creamy oak, brown sugar and subtle Christmas cake spice before a long, complex finish.
