Packaging is good: Always loved the design on this compilation, cardboard is good enough and they used inner poly sleeves, so there is no damaged to the surface of the records. It goes to show how bad they are when you can hear them even on the louder songs (which is most of the record). Greatest Hits also culls from II “Yesterdays,” “Civil War” and GN’R’s take on Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door. When they signed to Geffen Records in 1986, the band comprised vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler.

The 2LP set is pressed on 180g black vinyl and features all the hits along with a special bonus track in ‘Shadow of Your Love’ which was first issued on the 2018 Appetite For Destruction box set. The band is in full support of the vinyl reissue and have approved the rework of the artwork for a new feel with different colours and new photos. But it’s a cool record with all the songs you really need from the band (used to love her and a few more over the covers, but I digress).

The sound floor is noisy - it’s constant on my copy and system and goes from minimal to very noticeable at times, especially between tracks. Vinyl has some problems - slight crackling on the tracks between songs, there was a little dust and static on the recording, I had to wash it before the first listening, the inner sleeves are too big, I had to cut them a little.
