When the machine is plugged in, the light goes green when the steamer is ready to use, which takes a mere 15 seconds. Likewise, for very tough detail jobs, a cylinder steam cleaner will probably prove easier to use, as the Hoover Steam Capsule 2in1 proves to be a bit tiring to operate for long periods, particularly as you only get the full-on burst of steam in short cycles.
