About this deal

Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. I was thrilled when I heard a second Confessions book was written and delighted to be approved by NetGalley to read and review! I absolutely loved this book, her first Confessions of a Forty Something F*** Up ended up being one of my favourite books so I knew I had to read this one, and it was just as good. This is a great follow-up to the first book set 2 years on as Nell continues with her podcast and still struggles with life. Biography: Alexandra Potter is the bestselling author of romantic comedy fiction novels in the UK, including Me and Mr Darcy.

I don't know if there will be anymore in this series, but if she does decide to continue it, I can guarantee that this bookworm will be reading it. She also hosts a podcast which is understated throughout the novel but comes into its own quite significantly, before the end. A funny, feisty tale about the highs and the oh-so-lows of having to start over in your forties with a smart, sassy character at its heart who you'll be cheering on from start to finish.

She is good for Nell and reminds her that ‘you can have everything but if you lose [your sense of humour] life can’t be much fun’. This takes us through Nell’s life after she thinks she’s finally figured it out and her life is back on track.

there’s the ‘unexpected baggage’, things you thought you’d dealt with and suddenly find that you haven’t. It also annoys me that in society, if you're 25-40 and you're single/childless/unemployed (delete as applicable), you're deemed a failure.Nell negotiates the minefield of parents and friends, and faces the prospect of becoming a stepmum to twin boys – well, young men - while harbouring her own very private and secret disappointment. Confessions of a Forty-Something F*ck Up is perfect comfort reading for anyone who thinks life isn’t working out as they want it to, whether they’re forty, fourteen or eighty-four. She is engaged to Edward, they are living together, and she has her trusted friendships, as well as her new best friend, Cricket, the octagenarian who she met in the first book.

More Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up" by Alexandra Potter is an absolute gem that had me hooked from the very beginning. Having spent a large amount of her time alone in her flat, she's looking forward to being able to get out and about again with her boyfriend, Edward, and her friends. When you get these kind of haphazard rom-coms (a genre I will be trademarking) you expect them to be fun and silly and light-hearted. Nell’s life seems to be going as planned for once, she survived the Covid lockdowns, she’s getting married, she’s still busy writing obituaries, her friends are ok and her frenemy Annabel isn’t giving her such a hard time lately… That is until everything seems to fall apart again. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page.On the other hand, there are many, many points that resonated with me and there are for sure many, many women out there with same thoughts and feeling. This is the first day I am going to look at my live as adventure and to think whatever I do I will get there in life, there is no correct way to do it .
