About this deal

He meets a girl that invites him to her flat, where he pretends to fall asleep and we discover she is actually a vampire when she feeds on him. After she tells him she is bored with her recent life, Yamori tries to console her by saying they are the same. An anime television series adaptation produced by Liden Films aired from July to September 2022 on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. Nazuna, visiting Ko's apartment, tells him that she has been a vampire for a long time, and that it is not as exciting as it may seem. The opening theme is "Daten" ( 堕天, "Fallen Angel"), [52] while the ending theme is "Yofukashi no Uta" ( よふかしのうた), both performed by Creepy Nuts.

The author perfectly captures the appeal of seeing the world that runs so normally during the day through the lens of the strangeness that comes out at night.

To be honest, once I realized that was going to be a love sex farce with a middle school aged protagonist? As Midori plans to post photos for the cafe's social media, she notices several creepshots of Arisa uploaded to the same folder, and asks Ko to help her find the culprit. Nazuna constantly refers to vampirism as the vampires' equivalent of coitus, embarrassing Ko, and Ko reminds her that love is an essential part of the equation, embarrassing her. In Anime News Network 's Summer 2022 preview guide, contributors generally responded positively to the series, praising the narrative, unique take on the common trope of vampires, and high production value, comparing it favorably to the Monogatari series, which series co-director Tomoyuki Itamura had previously worked on at Shaft.

The art style was different from what I usually go for, but was something I also enjoyed about this volume. Because age gaps between supernatural beings and humans are so commonplace in media that unless something really problematic is happening, I don't care. Then Ko’s blood tastes delicious and I was battening down the hatches for more annoying tropes than I could shake a stick at. Unable to sleep or find true satisfaction in his daily life, Ko Yamori stops going to school and begins wandering the streets at night. She massages Yamori free of charge, but focuses in the more relaxing pressure points of his body, before trying to drink his blood. He meets with a beautiful girl named Nazuna, who identifies his night time restlessness as lack of satisfaction with life and decides to help him find it again. I like the nighttime vibe of this manga, and Nazuna and Ko's silly banter, and those by themselves will carry me at least through the three volumes of this manga that I own. Midori needs to find someone to work a shift at the vampire-themed maid cafe where she works who will not upstage her, and ends up convincing Nazuna to do the job while she is out on another stroll with Ko. Kiku Hoshimi ( 星見キク, Hoshimi Kiku) [2] A poorly understood vampire of an unknown age that suffers from extreme sociopathy turning hundreds of people into servants.

Anko Uguisu ( 鶯餡子, Uguisu Anko) Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro [8] (Japanese); Jessica Calvello (English) A vampire-hunting detective. She is hopelessly in love with Nazuna's mother, Haru Nanakusa, the woman who turned her, and due to how similar Nazuna looks to her mother, she has a tendency to act like an overbearing and doting parental figure, while also venting her own feelings toward Haru at Nazuna. And considering how many people gave this volume 1-2 star ratings because of the age gap, the publishers were right to be wary. Meanwhile, Nazuna thinks that Ko does not want to become a vampire anymore, and asks Nico and the other vampires to let him live. After leaving, Yamori gets jealous when Nazuna spots a person from which she has drunk blood before, but she says he is the only one at the moment.

It was serialized in Shogakukan's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday from August 2019 to January 2024. He has dropped out of school because he just doesn't see any point to it, and his parents don't seem to care about him. The story is at its best with these gags, and the uneven tone could have been improved by sprinkling more of these throughout.
