Perhaps the only (incredibly minimal) drawback is that it’s not super compact — it takes up quite a bit of space, but for how incredibly it performs, I don’t mind. In addition to being obsessed with all things mashed potatoes, I’m also a huge fan of things that make my life easier — and even though I have more time on my hands now that I’m not doing loads of homework every evening, I still love a good hack or nifty gadget. I filled the small cup with about roughly half a potato — you could probably do bigger chunks if you wanted, but I wanted to be extra sure it would work smoothly, and I recommend you do the same. A little tricky to hold steady over the pan and mash come round the sides of the plunger which you have to then push back into the next lot of potato. Speaking of the nylon frame, this is much, much better than the Stainless handles you find on other ricers,it is warm to the touch and very comfortable in the hand. The knob or rest allows you to set the ricer on a pot or bowl while reloading it to make the process easier and create less of a mess.Potato ricers operate using a hinged movement to press cooked ingredients through small holes, making your mash lump-free.

It's good-quality stainless steel, and the setting of the plunger is precisely balanced, so no swinging around and clanging. Though the diameter of the chamber is small, we liked that the holes come a third of the way up the sides.
