About this deal

In the year of the millennium 2000, the British cult musician Gary Numan released his 14th studio album Pure, which, with its mix of gloomy doomsday sounds and hard guitar staccato, finds it roots in the genres of industrial and gothic rock. Filled with pumping beats and guitars that sound like straight from a machine, “Pure” is an intense musical journey from start to finish. Se lo prendete vuol dire che conoscete già questo fantastico album, forse il più bello di Gary Numan, tra l'elettronica e l'industrial. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. This album is a dark and brooding as anything by the great goth bands of the 80's - it's also chillingly beautiful with some great melodies.

The song goes from quiet to loud and back to quiet again and features whispered vocals and a big epic chorus. Numanme Radio Podcast will be playing you some of the best Classic Alternative, New Wave, Dark Wave, Synth-Pop, and Punk. At that time I was getting very burned out on all of the NIN sound-alikes being released and might have lumped this in with them (as many critics did). Filled with pumping beats and guitars that sound like straight from a machine, 'Pure' is an intense musical journey from start to finish.

It seems to have been mixed just a little quiet to allow room for a bit less compression and it pays dividends. The hardest song for me to enjoy is “Little Invitro,” not because it’s a bad piece, but because the pain in the lyrics are very real and a little too true to the grief of the situation to be entertaining (making it all the stronger as art).

This vinyl Tour Edition of Gary Numan's assertive 2000 studio release Pure features the industrial album's original 11-tracks across 2LPs and an additional LP with five cuts taken from Scarred: Live at Brixton Academy including takes on Pure material and Numan classics "Cars" and "Replicas," and rounded out by the two Andy Gray remixes of "A Prayer For The Unborn" and "Listen To My Voice. Decent press and certainly hear parts to the album I never head before (first time for me on vinyl). This was released at a time when NIN wannabes were becoming extremely tedious, and think it suffered by an unfair association with those uninspired imitations. This is really where the hard work on "Sacrifice" and "Exile" came to pay off, it is the album that he was building towards to. Pure enfonce le clou d'entrée de jeu : guitares métalliques, voix menaçante, percussions à faire trembler les murs, claviers sépulcraux. It’s interesting that this was produced just after Trent was loudly acknowledging the debt he owed Numan, and the influence comes full circle.A un degré moindre, Gary Numan amorce un virage complet et revient à un son, certes électronique mais le message est clair , les années 2000 seront gothiques.

Easily my favourite Gary Numan record, so very slightly biased, especially remembering how incredible the live tour was for this album. Filled with pumping beats and guitars that sound like straight from a machine, Pure is an intense musical journey from start to finish, drfting into the Industrial Rock of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. For years now Gary has been experimenting with audio sound scape and this is his pinacle so far - there is a new album on the way soon. I like all of the tracks on this album ,but if I had to pull out a favourite it would be either the first track "Pure" or the album closer "I can't breathe.
