Aged tawny port is a blend of several vintages, with the average years ""in wood"" stated on the label: 10, 15, 20, and 30 years are common. Though it accounts for around one percent of production, vintage port is the flagship wine of all Portugal. The aromas are very complex with a powerful fragrance that expresses its age, and on the palate an array of flavours, from delicate fruit and raisins, to toasted toffee and chocolate, lead to a long and hugely satisfying aftertaste.

About: This wine is composed by Graham’s Master Blender, Charles Symington, from wines put aside in the cellar by his great-grandfather, grandfather, father and uncles. Graham's 40 Years Old is made from wines of the very highest quality which, following careful selection, are matured in seasoned oak casks of until their peak of maturity is reached. Port became very popular in England after the Methuen Treaty of 1703, when merchants were permitted to import it at a low duty, while war with France deprived English wine drinkers of French wine. An array of flavours, from delicate fruit and raisins, to toasted toffee and chocolate, with an outstanding aftertaste.Grahams aged tawnies show a characteristic “nutty” quality and delicious mature honeyed fruit, exquisitely mellowed by ageing in seasoned oak casks. LBV (Late-Bottled Vintage) port is intended to provide some of the experience of drinking a vintage port but without the decade-long wait of bottle aging.
