About this deal

Personally I carry a knifeless mod often, and I live in a state that's very liberal when it comes to blades.

I love knives, but always have one or two on me even when I carry a multitool, unless it's a Skeletool CX which does a great job of replacing a folder. Now, annoyingly, all Leatherman’s lock, this is actually a really good feature you don’t slice your fingers but it does mean that Leatherman’s are illegal to carry in the UK. Like the Supertool 300, but a little smaller, the Rebar Knifeless has removable wire cutting blades that can be sharpened on the tools own file or even replaced. I was able to move the can opener from the blade handle to the screwdriver handle (by removing the lanyard loop).

I'm not going to dock a star for the fact that FW's listing erroneously lists this tool as having a bottle opener (a can opener is all that's included in this department), but whilst knocking the lid off a cool one might not be quite so neatly accomplished in the absence of a dedicated opener, it's not exactly rocket science to do so in other ways. BTW does the Rebar fit the "universal" Leatherman nylon sheath (the one with the hole in the bottom so you can carry deployed pliers, and with side pockets) well, or is it too loose in that, as it's smaller than the Wave etc. Okay so in the box we find a little manual which actually has info on all their multi tools not just the Knifeless EDC Rebar, a Leatherman Sticker, a little case for the tool and the tool itself. A precise measuring guide for determining length in inches or centimetres, up to 8 inches or 19 centimetres.

This is one of the main reasons why we end up with all these laws and restrictions that are inconsistent and don't make any sense. O members who have plenty of resources on how to do the modding yourself and where people can hook you up with spare parts as well (or have enough parts themselves). I would recommend this to anyone since I believe you should be self reliant and this allows you to solve a lot of problems out and about. On either side it has a little squeezy latch to release the lock on all the tools (the lock keeps the tools open).

The tool itself is really well built, tough and durable, and it came well lubricated and oiled - no hitches at all when exposing any of the tools. That’s why we offer our 25-year warranty, so you can be confident your Leatherman lasts for a lifetime of use. long and the scissors that replace it are about 2" long when closed with less than 1" of cutting length. Doesn't make sense to change the plier head as I've not heard of any problems with them breaking when using the crimpers. There's very little that points to there being any government involved here since Leatherman is US based and the US government (where I believe most states would allow you to carry a Rebar with the blade) seems unlikely to force them to make such a model. As this is the knifeless edition it obviously doesn’t come with a knife making it, as I said before, UK legal. The file sucks though, and the tool set is more limited, but on the plus side you'll have spring loaded pliers. I've read a few threads here discussing various countries that do have "limitations" on multi-tools, usually involving the knife, here is an example: http://forum. The Every Day Carry Leatherman Rebar is perfect for environments and job sites that need a handy set of tools, yet don't allow for knife blades.

I'm very interested in the knife-less Rebar, as it's the only full-size Leatherman that is legal to carry in a public place in the UK - it's completely illegal to carry any sort of locking blade (you can only carry a non-locking blade up to 3"), and you can be arrested for this, even if you have a legitimate reason to have the knife/tool on you. For this upcharge you loose the 420HC knife, the 420HC serrated knife and the electrical crimper but do get spring-action scissors. It's really just about somebody telling you that you can't have something, or that you can't do something. I travel to Asia, Europe, and big American cities often for work and tend to go completely knifeless when I do. With the extra space they could've put the diamond file in or something At the end of the day, it's a Rebar.I just wish Leatherman offered more of their models without knife blades (but replaced them with more useful tools instead e.
