About this deal

It’s rare I read a book twice since there are so many books I’d like to read. However, “Blink of an Eye,” I reread.

Essentially In the Blink of an Eye is a police procedural, Kat and her squad conduct interviews, investigate clues and gather evidence to explain the fate of the missing men. Callaghan develops a solid mystery and I thought it played out well. There’s plenty of tension, enhanced by the anonymous perspective of a young man suffering at the hands of shadowy figures, and effective twists in the plot. These decisions made Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind one of the greatest films of our era, and it’s because the filmmakers weren’t afraid to “kill their darlings.” Her current case is much more personal, however. Her good friend, Jessie Mercado, who is also a private investigator, is a bodyguard to Delilah Winter, a young singer who has achieved Superstar status. Delilah has been kidnapped and Kendra will turn over every stone until Delilah is found. So, Kendra and Jessie work together, as well as former FBI Agent Adam Lynch, a love interest of Kendra's who has been in just about every book in this series. With occasional assistance from FBI Agents Griffin and Metcalf, Kendra, Jessie and Adam desperately try and find Delilah. The book had a creative angle: The main character SETH (student genius at Berkeley University) could see the future possibilities in front of him. He knew what possibilities were about to happen. He could then choose his next actions based on knowing what the police or badguys were likely to do. His gift strengthens throughout the book. Clive. . . I wanted him to be a good guy so bad and I was really happy that he finally was. *Spoiler alert* Actually, Clive was conceivably my favorite character in the whole book. :D

The cast of Kendra, Jessie and Adam Lynch are as dynamic as the story. There is enough banter between them that provides the needed break from all of the suspense. Murch has a chapter on all the new software out on editing film and he is still a bit skeptical it can deliver on all its claims. With the older technology, it required you to sift through alot of material, and sometimes you would come across footage that was just what you needed - footage you may have discarded before. He thinks the new technology will probably,in time, bridge the advantages of new and old. But as of his writing, he still felt the older editing machines were better.

It's so much more than a dystopian police procedural and asks questions about who we are and what it means to be human. Brilliant' Nikki Smith Everything I love in a police procedural but with an imaginative and fresh perspective. Clever and warm, it’s one of the best debuts I’ve read in years’ Jo Jakeman Although it has been nearly a year since I binge read the first seven books in this exciting series by Iris Johansen and Roy Johansen, I was very excited to read the 8th book in the Kendra Michaels series, Blink of an Eye. Dr. Kendra Michaels had been blind since birth for twenty years, and had a very successful procedure that gave her sight. During those years, Kendra fine-tined her other senses. Now that she has her sight, her skills are beyond acceptable. A successful music therapist, Kendra has proved to be an invaluable consultant to the police, the FBI and even the CIA. This book was a bit of a wild ride! Whew! I enjoyed it’s heady, brainy approach and the consequently mysterious and exciting adventure that ensued. Though, I must say that overall, I left the book feeling very disappointed. IT was one of those stories that you have such high hopes for as you read it, and then when it wraps itself up (or fails to do so) you walk away disappointed and shaking your head.
