About this deal

The Berik All Terrain Adventure Waterproof boots are also fully CE-certified as Level 2 protective motorcycle boots, which is impressive given the boots’ very-affordable price point.

My experience with the Avantour has been almost entirely positive, though there are two things that you should know. There is a Drytex waterproof and breathable liner to keep water out but allow the foot to breathe and there is TPU protection on the ankle and a large section on the shin. There are also strong heel and toe cups and there is also a triangular TPU protective section on the outside of the edge of the foot. The Expedition H2O boots are, according to REV’IT!, the result of three years of product development, 100,000km of test rides, 86 adjustments to the design, 27 prototypes, and 134 comments from test riders. With this amount of time invested into pre-production, you can start to see where the astronomical price tag comes from. The Alpinestars Corozal boots also implement a partial ankle brace across their outer side, which provides much-better ankle protection than practically-all budget adventure boots, except for the Forma Terra EVO Dry boots (the latter boots we’ve also reviewed further down in this guide). Next were the Crossfires. Too complicated, and not very plush inside. Looked the business though. Bit of a surprise that one too, as I have had several pairs of Sidis over the years and really liked them. The outer of the boots isn’t waterproof, but the inner bootie is, and this rises just over the ankle to provide a fairly good amount of waterproofing. As explained in this guide, ADV boots are motorcycle boots designed primarily for off-road riding with simultaneous road-riding capabilities. If the Forma Terra EVO Dry boots are out of your budget but you still want good protective features, then get the Alpinestars Corozal Drystar boots.

As with all adventure motorcycle boots in this guide, the Alpinestars Belize Drystar boots are certified as protective motorcycle boots. When it comes to buying adventure boots and you’re standing in the store with a sales rep explaining why this one is better than that, there is one crucial factor to consider above all else. And that is how they fit your feet. Everyone’s feet are different in terms of shape and size, and there’s no one-size-fits-all option. The boots offer an incredible amount of both comfort and protection (two things that are usually at odds with each other). The underpinning technology behind this is the Dynamic Support Frame (DSF), which consists of three components: a calf support structure, a heel cup, and a stability frame. In terms of protection, the leather boot features a small shin guard along with ankle protection and a stiffened toe cap. It is a stiff boot and I had trouble slipping them on and off my feet, although I expect them to loosen up with prolonged use. I’ve worn these extensively over the past few months, in conditions ranging from driving rain to suffocating heat in Morocco, and they’ve handled everything I’ve thrown at them.
