Like previous renewals, a group of amateur bakers was brought in where they would be attempting to reach finals as they impress judges with their baking skills.

She’s Close to Her Cousins We were all nervous about making a cake bust of our celebrity heroes and knowing that we were all in the same boat was really reassuring! Lottie Bedlow was the stand-out star from Channel 4's The Great British Bake Off 2020 and taught herself to bake through trial and error. Nobody's bake is perfect. So if things go wrong, just remember: WHO CARES AS LONG AS IT TASTES GOOD?The contestant believes that baking is in her blood and cites her Lancastrian great-grandmother, who was a fervent cake-baker, as the ancestor who gave her the culinary gene. My weaknesses are] timing and decoration. I get lost in making sure I know what I am doing technically so I often run out of time or serve something that looks nothing like I had expected or wanted it to!"

From simple recipes to encourage even the most inexperienced bakers through to more ambitious centrepieces, the focus is always on great flavour. Each recipe highlights potential pitfalls, with notes on what to look out for and how to find a fix. Lottie Bedlow is a 31-year-old pantomime producer from West Sussex with a penchant for learning intricate baking techniques.Growing up, she had toys. But, she really wanted cookbooks. She’d spend her time focusing on things like the way recipes could be written down and things could be done to make recipes better, easier, or more flavorful. She was a child who knew she had a love of being in the kitchen, and we have a love of that for her. 6. She’s a College Grad

Baking – which had begun as my secret hobby and turned into a personal, creative outlet – was now a hilarious and messy process that I actually enjoyed sharing with others. The sense that we were ‘all in this together’ was like nothing I’d ever experienced before. I want to give other people that feeling. That is why I’ve written Baking Imperfect. To encourage anyone who feels nervous about baking to give it a go, and to push more experienced bakers to challenge themselves. What is the worst that can happen? As a young girl, she would choose to watch cooking shows rather than play with her toys and was often found making notes from recipe books.

8. She’s a Perfectionist

So who is contestant Lottie? Well, here’s all you need to know about the baker including how old she is, where she's from and her job: Lottie who learned to bake beautiful birthday cakes is yet to reveal when her own birthday happens. Then, things began to change. I don’t know exactly when the shift happened but, gradually, I found the confidence to bend recipes – just by tweaking flavours to start with. A lemon cheesecake became a lime cheesecake. Chocolate brownies found raspberry pieces. Ganache tasted better with the addition of alcohol. Once made, these creations felt personal. Yes, I had used someone else’s recipe for the method, but I had added my own flavours so it was my bake.
