Based on the installment's ending, the character's quest for the Scarab appears to be nearing its end as he sets off to unleash Ammit and his judgment on the world. The difference is that, while in the comics, the suit and tie symbolize the wealth that this character possesses, in the series, it represents the fact that Steven has a gentler and more sophisticated personality than the hard-nosed mercenary Marc Spector. Marketing has been in full blast as Moon Knight enjoys its current Disney+ run, leading to a plethora of posters and official merchandise for viewers. As part of its promotional push, Funko already unveiled its first official vinyl figure for the series, featuring a fully costumed Moon Knight alongside a miniature keychain version of the collectible. Marc, the son of a rabbi, became a mercenary after serving as a Marine and CIA operative. Struggling with his morality, he found himself at odds with fellow mercenary Raoul Bushman, who murdered an archaeologist called Dr. Alraune whilst they were completing a job in Sudan. Marc proceeded to rescue Marlene Alraune, the archaeologist's daughter, and Bushman retaliated by mortally injuring him. Prior to his death, Marc took shelter in a tomb that housed a statue of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu; however, he soon returned to the land of the living. Khonshu, later revealed to be an entity from the Othervoid, had selected the mercenary as his representative and tasked him with protecting the innocent. To accomplish this mission, Marc uses his unique skills and dons a distinctive white outfit, supported by his colleague Jean-Paul ‘Frenchie’ DuChamp and Marlene.
He shares a body with Marc Spector, a mercenary with the power to conjure a unique costume that grants him powers. Known as the Moon Knight, this version with an outfit inspired by Egyptian mummies is given to him because he is an avatar of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon. The change even makes sense, considering that Moon Knight himself does not have a long enough career as a vigilante to need to invent a new secret identity to cooperate with the authorities.
