Also the temperature offset of say + up to 3 degrees means that it will operate as if it is set 3 degrees higher. I recently had my 25 year-old G rated boiler swapped out for a new Ideal Logic 35KW C Combi. It seems to be working well except I am having real problems with the temperature control. I have got a wireless "CENTER EHE0200361 RF Programmable Room Thermostat" which I have tried in several rooms in the house. Glad you are making progress, you seem like my wife who feels the cold and psychologically needs to feel a radiator on, even if the thermometer is reading a high. Nevertheless it is how you feel then that’s what matters. To change any setting, press the button, then press the or buttons until the correct value is flashing

Normally on reaching the setting temperature rising it seems to cycle as if the differential is too low but the heating system is not noisy so I have accepted this. I had by Baxi boiler installed and they used a Center EHE0200361 RF Programmable room Thermostat in April 2016, the problem is that it displays the wrong temperature, my wife got up at 3 AM to go to the loo and had a look at it and it said that it was 19 degrees, there was no way that it was anywhere near that, we've also compared it with a normal thermometer and it reads high, is there anything I can do or does it need replacing? On a recent cold night I decided to set the overnight temperature from the standard 5deg C to 15 so the boiler would operate in the middle of the night if it went cold. It had been operating set at 20 when we went to bed and shut off as expected. It was coming down in temperature. I was woken at 2-15 with the heating coming on (as expected). The problem was it ran for about 5 mins and shut down. After only 1min it fired up again and continued cycling like this. It did not run long enough to get the bedroom radiator even warm. The heating system is a bit noisy before it settles down on a normal early morning warm up and this cycling could not be tolerated to see if the cycling time extended and gave some heat out to the bathroom and landing radiators. The thermostat seemed to see it as the system had reached the required temperature. Press the button repeatedly until the screen displays CLr. Wolseley UK, The Wolseley Center, Harrison Way, Spa Park, Royal Leamington Spa, CV31 3HH Press the button to send the Binding signal to the Relay Box. If successful, the red light on the Relay Box will stop flashing and turn off. In a few seconds the Room Unit will return to normal operation, in Standby mode We are considering fitting a wired thermostat (as my old my old one always worked well) but I have looked at the specs and it seem to me that wired would work in exactly the same way as wireless. I think the Ideal Logic 35KW C Combi is OpenTherm enabled although not sure, so the CENTER EHE0200361 RF Programmable Room Thermostat is not opentherm so possibly the wrong type of thermostat for the boiler.

I have just had a new combi boiler installed, using the same wireless room thermostat, and I'm having trouble figuring out how best to use it. The Relay Box is a RF device. For the best performance install in an open space. Leave at least 30cm distance from any metal objects including wall boxes and boiler housing. If I leave the boiler temperature set to Eco (around 68 deg) then the house very seldom reaches the target temp of 21 deg. If I turn the boiler up to full (around 80 deg) then is reaches the target at around midday. The real problem is that once it switches off then it stays off for up to 2 hours until the temp drops by a couple of degrees, by then the rads are all cold and the house is cold. The only way I can regulate it is to operate the thermostat manually.

is an RF thermostat. The Room Unit communicates with the relay Box on an 868MHz Radio Frequency (RF) to control a single heating system component such as a boiler, pump or zone valve. Neither product will communicate with other RF products that use different frequencies or communication protocols. Only Bind or Re-Bind if the units become separated or one of them needs replaced. No need to re-connect after power cuts or battery replacement. NOTE: The Relay Box contains no user serviceable parts. It should be opened and installed by a qualified installer only. I deliberately woke up and went downstairs in the middle of the night and it was absolutely freezing everywhere, yet the thermostat was still saying 18.5 in the living room so there's no way it would ever fire the heating to warm the house on a cold night unless I raised the overnight temp to 19. You may then want to open some valves a little more, specially those with furthest run, but you have a basic adjustment and from that you can improve the balance.
