About this deal

For seventeen-year-old Fable, the daughter of the most powerful trader in the Narrows, the sea is the only home she has ever known. It’s been four years since the night she watched her mother drown during an unforgiving storm. The next day her father abandoned her on a legendary island filled with thieves and little food. To survive she must keep to herself, learn to trust no one, and rely on the unique skills her mother taught her. The only thing that keeps her going is the goal of getting off the island, finding her father, and demanding her rightful place beside him and his crew. To do so Fable enlists the help of a young trader named West to get her off the island and across the Narrows to her father.

The romance - from the get-go, I didn't feel the chemistry between Gemma and Kas. After I finished the first book, I'd hoped it would change as the series went on, but I'm still not feeling it. I just don't feel this invisible pull between them that they seem to hang on and sacrifice everything for. This is honestly the main reason I don't like this series as much as other series by the author. It's like she tried telling us and describing us that invisible rope between the two characters more than showing it to us. If you are looking for a YA book that has an almost non-existent plot line, but a great MC and some amazing world building, then this is the book for you. If not, I'd say give it a pass. The Romance: This is, to me, perhaps the most surprising part, unexpectedly laying waste to my heart as the line they draw in the sand to stay distant is wiped clean with their growing trust, as he bares himself to her after only allowing her broken pieces of himself, as he softens for her despite being all sharp edges. I think this is less a romance about falling in love and more one of coming to understand the love that had formed between them and futilely attempting to guard against it but failing miserably. Their efforts feel too late, their surrender inevitable in the best way possible. It’s a love that rings desperate, so pent up and intense, so hidden but revealing itself slowly and pleadingly. Fable by Adrienne Young, is a Young Adult novel with a unique setting. Unlike most YA books that I've read before, which are set in a Palace or a war zone, this one is set on a ship. Unfortunately, that's where my praise ends, because besides the different setting, there was nothing else about it that I liked. But when the table gets turn and the victim again turns into the monster...who is to blame for the choice? She's weathered storms, thieves and starvation until she finally saved up enough for passage off of the island. E L Norry's series starter is just wonderful and I enjoyed every word. Heather is an extremely likeable and relatable main protagonist who shows how the true meaning of family, embracing your individuality, and fighting for what you believe in can be different for everyone. The addition of burgeoning friendships and Arthurian legend only enhance an already excellent storyline and I can't wait to dive into book two, hopefully in the near future.

Her research is extensive and painfully accurate, it made me feel anxious at times seeing Kas writhing in agony trapped in his mind. How debilitated and helpless he must feel, tripping over himself, falling and breaking his own heart. Now she enlists the help of young trader named West to get off the island but more she spends her time in ship Marigold, more she connects with the crew: they literally turn into her own family she never truly had. As soon as she realizes her father’s rivalries are bigger threat for her life and West isn’t the person who he seems, only way to survive against the treacherous storm threatens the Narrows is becoming a team. OMG. I don't think there exists any other author who can give me the perfect mixture of Darkness and Angst like pepper can. I spent the last night reading this book with my heart clenched in pain and tears streaming down my cheeks. Kas and Gemma have a tale that will haunt you forever just like it haunts me. My mum thinks he’s Jamaican, pretty sure he is but when I was about 20 years-old she said she wasn’t sure as it could have been one of two guys.Set in the 1950s, Fablehouse has its own magic and when one of the children, Heather found it, the underworld beneath their home was exposed. With a touch of Arthurian and Merlin legend, Heather and her friends are set to save Fablehouse before it is too late. Aside from its gorgeous cover, Fablehouse is now one of my favorite middle-grade fantasy books because its own fantasy world is so magical and amazing. Fablehouse is actually the name of the house where all children who have been excluded live there happily. I loved the concept of fablehouse where it actually protects the naive children from all the terror and hatred in the outside world.

Pepper is a Hybrid Author of both Traditional and Self-published work. Her Pure Corruption Series was released by Grand Central, Hachette.

What a unique retelling of the Arthurian legend!! It is also a perfect account of how social morals have changed since the 1950’s. Hahah! I don’t plan in the first place, so I don’t have a Plan B. I guess I’d ask work if they could take me on for more days. Not a very imaginative answer, but the realistic one. Stories and characters are how I make sense of my life and the world around us and I’m interested in so much. I’ve been writing on and off since I was ten. So, anyone paying me anything for my words is a literal dream come true. If it all goes away tomorrow? I’d still write because I have to; with writing there is always more to learn. Different age groups, forms, genres – the possibilities are endless. Of course it was also a bit rape-y and hostage-y again.🤣 This series is definitely nothing for easily triggered readers! This left off on such a great cliffhanger; the perfect set-up for Namesake. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys an adventure on the high seas! Because you see, they live the life of the sea, and there are only two things strictly forbidden and deemed deadly on a ship: love and drunkenness. And when your ship is your life and your life is that of a pirate with enemies watching you for any weakness to exploit, you don’t have the luxury of love. To love is to jump off a cliff and hope you hit water rather than land, knowing even the water will likely drown you. And the characters’ understanding and fear of this is what makes their love all the more decadent.
