About this deal

If you’re looking for a straightforward cylinder vacuum that won’t let you down, the Henry is a great choice for carpets and hard floors. While it can be unwieldy to use on stairs and doesn’t have many advanced features, it has excellent filtration, strong suction power and provides great value. That depends on the type of Henry you own. There are some Henry family members (for example, George the wet dry vacuum cleaner) designed especially for wet vacuuming, including carpets. They even come with extra tools to make the job easier. The cleaner also comes with a bunch of tools and add-ons: including smaller brushes, a thin crevice tool and different sized steel tubes. There’s no supplied bag or space in/around Henry to put them, though. Regardless, they’re a tight fit, without the need for suction clips or the like, and didn’t slip off during testing. Henry Hoover review: Verdict

These vacuums were originally British made exclusively, but now they have manufacturing plants all over the world. Demand grew and the Henry crossed the sea. They are a thoroughly British vacuum cleaner. Where Can I Buy Henry Vacuum Range Bags? Pull out the two clips on both sides that hold the top of the machine to the drum, then, using the handle lift off the machine top (POWER HEAD). Lift out the main white filter and remove the dust bag from the tube inside the drum. The genuine Numatic dust bag has a sealing tab, which allows you to keep the dust in the bag once full. Push the tab into the hole and dispose of the full bag. The head of the family, Henry is certainly the most well known cleaner from the range. First introduced in 1981, Henry’s smiling face has been helping people to clean their homes ever since. Traditionalists will tell you this is the best Henry you can get, and if you’re looking for a reliable and affordable vacuum it’s hard to argue with this view. There’s actually two main models of this Henry, the Henry Hoover 160-11 and the Henry Hoover 200-11. The main difference between the two is the 160-11 has a bag capacity of six litres, whilst the 200-11 has a larger capacity at 9 litres. She’s been well designed with a small profile and cylindrical shape which makes her easy to store when you’re not using her. However, within that is plenty of power and space to store large amounts of dust and dirt. There is essentially no difference between the Hetty and Henry, other than her appearance. You can read our full review of this machine here. It comes with that large 9L capacity dustbin, fantastic reach, and has multiple attachments included. For the average home, the HZ series isn’t required as the standard HepaFlo bags + TriTex filtration is adequate for household dust and allergens. The HZ series is only necessary for industrial uses. Which is the Best Henry Hoover? BBC - West Country Cash: Made in Chard: The Somerset factory keeping it local". www.bbc.co.uk . Retrieved 13 June 2021. Later “Autosave” was introduced, this meant that Henry started up in the 600W mode by default. Once it was you running you could switch the machine to “high” power mode. This was a great power saving feature as he performed very well in the “lo” mode without wasting the extra power. There are different aspects of Henry vacuums that come with a class rating. Energy Efficiency is one, suction another. There may be more. As a general rule, Class A is the best you can buy. A Traditional Henry has an Energy Class A rating, for example. Other Considerations to Make Before Buying a Henry Vacuum Cleaner As the name suggests, the Henry Xtra is just like the regular Henry but a little bit more. He comes with a host of different accessories and features which means he can cope with just about any job going.

Most of these machines have only one or two controls. An off/on switch and the cord winder. They may have a high/low setting (like the traditional Henry) and they may have a wet/dry setting (like the George). Finally, the Xtra can switch between hard floors and carpets as a special feature. Storage Originally the first vacuum cleaners were sold as commercial units with no name at all, they proved to be a huge success with commercial cleaners in schools and offices all over the country. With people using them at work and finding that they performed so well they wanted to be able to use the same machine at home. It was not long before Mr Duncan realised this and that there was huge potential for a domestic version, this was when Henry was first introduced in the 1980’s.Some people prefer the ability to wind the cable in and James allows you to do that. He also has a caddy in which he can nicely store away and attachments. A plugged cable means it is pretty easy to replace the mains cable. John and Lewis (JL150) - Green and Purple, introduced on 7 July 2014 as a John Lewis & Partners limited edition, now discontinued on 10 February 2022. When shopping for a small home you have less mess – but less storage space. For this we suggest the Henry Micro, which will do a great job while fitting snugly into small spaces. What’s a Numatic Henry? Henry has had a few makeovers here and there in his time, but he has never lost that iconic cheeky smile and red colour that everyone immediately recognises. You have almost certainly been in the same room as him (or at least in a room he has cleaned) in the last week if not the last couple of days. He really is that popular, and it is for a reason. With so much choice within the Henry Hoover family, it’s difficult to say which is the best Henry vacuum as it all comes down to what you require.

He offers two useful features. The first is a dual purpose hairo-brush which is fantastic for scrubbing off stubborn pet hairs and other stains, the second is a carbon filter designed to combat unpleasant smells. The MicroFresh filter activated charcoal filter will minimise the bad smells your pets can create. Hardwood floorhead – a handy feature for homeowners with a wooden floor (comes with Henry XL Plus, Henry Allergy HVA 160-11 and Henry Xtra HVX200) The HVR200-11 uses 620W of power, making it one of the more energy efficient models on the market. The motor also provides excellent suction and is highly durable, while the large 9 litre capacity means you won’t need to empty it often. Other features include TriTex filters, HepaFlo bags and a cord-rewind system. a b c Goodhart, Maud (3 February 2017). "Design classic: Numatic's Henry vacuum cleaner". Financial Times.Numatic now boast a product range of well over 200 products, including those for industrial applications. With Numatics foundations firmly in commercial applications their domestic range is built to a standard that you just don’t see in other vacuum cleaners on the market. Henry Hoover Henry is also hugely practical. The 2.3m long flexible hose is perfect for reaching awkward places, and should see you vacuuming up and down your stairs with minimal effort. Henry Hound HHR200 - A Henry with an electric rotating brush, specialised for pet owners with a carbon filter. It came in green and was partially succeeded by Harry, which has an air-driven turbine head. The Harry Hoover was the last member of the family to come to life, he was introduced for pet owners who needed a vacuum cleaner specifically to deal with pet hair and the unfortunate “pong” that pet hair can sometimes leave in your vacuum cleaner. The storage is something you don’t realise you need from a vacuum cleaner. When you finally get it, you wonder how you lived without it all these years.
