About this deal

Play a warrior, sorceress, dwarf or archer, and defend the king’s castle! Pass difficult trials, defeat determined opponents and protect the land from a dark secret. While there is a decent amount of replay to be had, certainly much more than the price of admission, Legends of Andor isn’t a casual game. This isn’t the type of game that you’ll pull out at random when unexpected company comes over. A dedicated gaming group isn’t 100% necessary to move from Legend to Legend, but like Tragedy Looper or T.I.M.E Stories, you’ll at least want seasoned players that are familiar with the game. And, as with the above games, it isn’t super fun to play the same scenario multiple times. Because the game is unforgiving, to the point where one wrong move might cost you the game, you’ll probably end up replaying at least one Legend multiple times.

Loaded fine, tutorial fine Tried to actually play a game, cant get past select equipment screen. Tried all buttons, options.

Parade of Monsters

Final Score: 3 Stars – A puzzle game hides under the skin of a fantasy adventure game. While fun, Legends of Andor could use a bit more replay value. Note: There are various free actions – these do not cost time and can be done at different times. These will need to be considered when planning what actions you want to do.

The components for Legends of Andor were really good, with a couple of exceptions: All of the components in Legends of Andor are of high quality… with the exception of the numbers on the board. The game scales well and I’d be happyto play it at any player count from 2-4. Expansions add a fifth and sixth player but I don’t think I’d ever play at that player count. It seems a bit messy to me. Even so, the option is there. Conclusion Everything you could ask for from the board game experience! The board game is so much fun but sometimes you need a big table to play and even though you can play solo, it is always fun with other people and we personally dont always have that option but with this app theres no need to setup the whole board and its on the go! New legends and minor tweaks to in game rules makes it an awesome game for any fan or new player! The production values of this game are outstanding, and we’re enjoying it quite a lot. We’re only on the third quest but am really getting the hang of it and getting into it. The view of the board is a thing of beauty. Great decisions during gameplay that lead to a satisfying experience. Highly recommend for fans of adventure and fantasy gaming. Note: The game’s designer, Michael Menzel, was also the illustrator for the game’s components, including the board.

Gorgeous Artwork

In March 2015, I posted my Top 10 Cooperative Board Games list. Legends of Andor squeezed onto the list in 10th place. Today I am going to do a full review of Legends of Andor . Will it stand the test of time and retain its place in the Top 10 or have newer games surpassed it? Game Overview: The player Boards – Each hero has its own double-sided board, with one side being a female version of that hero and the other male, something my daughter appreciated. The illustrations are nice and the layout and presentation of information is well done and easily understood. A stand-alone cooperative strategy game where players take on the role of heroes in their quest to save their beloved land of Andor from a mysterious dark magic that has caused an unnatural and endless frost.

We literally cannot stop playing this app or the board game!!!! Was really well done and matching the board game well.Im having a lot of fun playing. It could use a few UI tweaks. We dont think you can undo, even things like moving that could be undone easily. We havent figured out how to trade items (if it is possible). But still a 5 star game!

We have LOA the board game and all of its expansions (because Im a nerd who love this game) and was blown away when we discovered that there is an app. If youre already a fan of this amazing game then dont hesitate to get the app as it is faithful to the physical game and wonderfully executed. If youre new to LOA you need only play the tutorial to learn this game. The rules are almost ridiculously easy to learn but the game play is brilliantly challenging! Thank you for bringing this to the digital realm!! Fight – If a creature is in the same space as a hero, the hero can engage the creature. One round of combat equals one hour. Unfortunately, Legends of Andor would not make my Top 10 Cooperative Games list if I redid it today. Legends of Andor is a co-operative adventure game by Kosmos Games for 2–4 players. Designer Michael Menzel is better known for his amazing board game art. Legends of Andor proves he’s a man of many talents, though! We have bought this game seeing that developers continue to update and improve it. Thank you and please continue the updates !Players looking for a dungeon delve or a dice fest will be disappointed with Legends of Andor. It is really a puzzle in a fantasy setting. We’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps and the program still crashes at the start of the first tutorial game. We have ipad 3 with IOS 9.3.5. I’d be happy to change our review after the game is fixed. The numbering sequence on the game board – My only frustration with the components is the numbering of the spaces ON the board. The spaces are numbered to assist in placing pieces on the board. More often than not, spaces that are adjacent are not sequential. I spent more time than I would have liked searching the board for the correct space to spawn a monster or token. Another friend of mine owns this games and felt the exact same as I do, so I know that I am not alone with this complaint. How to Play: We love this game. We own the table top version and was excited to see it available for iOS. This app version was easy for us to learn and we were playing right away. We’re not sure how complicated it would feel for a new player. For example not every rule is explained in the tutorial or first campaign. However things the game is designed to start off relatively easy and ramp up from there. If you like strategic board games, this is for you. Expect a little up front rule learning. So far the story line it’s exactly like we remember from the physical game. You can adjust difficulty level though in case you have played before. We haven’t played enough to know if the iOS version has the same randomness built in to the ai as the physical board game (for example placement of certain things on the board based on dice rolls). This randomness is what gives the game replayability. So far we’re really happy with this version. Recommended! Saying that, the first legend is definitely a training legend. That’s not to say it isn’t fun but many of the rules are explained in this initial game which slows it down slightly. After that, the game gets into its stride. Each legend plays differently and feels like part of a larger story. They’re a lot of fun. The difficulty is set at a level where you’re always going to be up against time. The legend marker consistently gets close to that fatal final space.
